SUPERVISORY PROGRAM SUPPORT SPECIALIST

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a first-level Supervisory Program Support Specialist for the 88th Air Base Wing's Staff Agencies (WSA) and 88th Comptroller Squadron (CPTS) Commander Support Staff (CSS), and to provide executive support in the management of day-to-day operations. Responsibilities Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short/long-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work. Provides subject-matter expert (SME) staff support to 88th Air Base Wing (ABW), Director of Staff (DS). Plans, organizes, and manages the activities of the 88 DS; oversees diverse agendas; prepares for Wing Staff Agency (WSA) events; and drafts daily documents. Coordinates with the DS/CC/DD and independently leads a variety of studies and assessments of the WSA to determine the efficiency and effectiveness of program operations. Identifies barriers to productivity, develops and implements innovative solutions to streamline work processes, and facilitates business process improvements to maximize resources. Advises DS/CC/DD in the formulation of detailed plans and initiatives to ensure Group goals and objectives are met. Provides financial management program expertise, technical advice, and guidance to leadership. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have or within 120 days of announcement closing will have, at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-02, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-11 or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience is program management experience, to plan, organize, and determine necessary policies, regulations, directives, programs, and procedures for the development and execution of assigned programs and providing management advisory service on a continuing and needed basis. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of a range of AF functions, policies, procedures, practices, concepts, and theories related to the mission, management, and operation of organizations to provide high level staff guidance. Knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of program operations. Knowledge of pertinent laws, regulations, policies, and precedents which affect the use of program and related support resources in the area studied. Knowledge of the major issues, program goals and objectives, work processes and administrative operations of the organization. Skill in adapting analytical techniques and evaluation criteria to the measurement and improvement of program effectiveness and/or organizational productivity. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to gain cooperation from others through tact, courtesy, and diplomacy. Knowledge of Report of Survey and Report of Audit program principles, concepts, and directives, including governing USAF and local regulations, manuals, guidance, etc. Knowledge of procedures used to conduct report of survey and report of audit investigations and to present the findings of the financial liability officer. This includes the ability to gather, assemble, and analyze data to prepare reports of survey, and make recommendations to investigating officials. Ability to plan, organize work, and meet deadlines. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.
