Supervisory Recreation Specialist NF-03
Summary This position is for Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) at Fort Drum, New York. FMWR includes Child and Youth Services, Business Recreation, and Support Services, which enable Soldier readiness, support the resiliency and well-being of Soldiers and Families. Responsibilities Supervises a staff of 3-12 employees, assigns and reviews work assignments on a daily, weekly, or longer basis. Plans work schedules, approves or disapproves leave, determines performance objectives and rates performance. Must be able to support the activity by applying a practical knowledge of recreational activities and skills in the use of recreation materials and facilities. Works in executing recreation events, programs and services to meet the recreational needs of a diverse patronage, including a variety of multi disciplinary events, i.e., social activities, tournaments and other major programs. Assists with training new personnel and other recreation programs in the Recreation Center as needed. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Qualified candidates will possess the following: Knowledge of a wide range of recreation and sports activities, organization and structure of military units and installation sports program objectives, policies, methods and procedures to plan, organize, and coordinate activities, assist, guide and motivate military staff in carrying out their responsibilities Basic understanding of budget and supply functions in order to prepare input and justification of funding of supplies and equipment Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing (English) Work experience or education directly related to the duties of a Supervisory Recreation Specialist NF-0188-03 PLEASE NOTE: Your resume & application package must reflect the qualifications stated in the announcement and questionnaire to be rated eligible. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will NOT be paid. Payband employees in pay levels NF-3 and above and all CY employees, are entitled to receive nonforeign area allowances and differentials in the same amounts and under the same eligibility criteria prescribed for APF employees in the same locality.
