Key Responsibilities:

KBR is seeking a Supervisory Software Engineer/AFSIM Modeler to lead a team of software engineers and modelers responsible for implementing the framework, plugins, libraries, and application program interfaces (APIs) for the behavior module of an advanced modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) capability being developed for the Defense Advanced Projects Research Agency (DARPA). The ideal candidate will:

Be able to think creatively and offer grounded, out-of-the-box solutions when appropriate.Be comfortable working in a dynamic environment and with making development and design decisions under uncertainty.Work directly with military subject matter experts to transform doctrinal tactics, behaviors, and other qualitative information into discrete modeling & simulation objects.Develop, direct, and manage execution of a development roadmap.Develop, direct, and manage a test-driven software development process to create platform, weapon, system, and/or behavior models.Prepare and/or manage creation of formal documentation of models and behaviors, as well as of the processes used to develop them.Provide technical direction to subordinate developer-modelers to execute tasks on schedule and to exercise quality control over deliverables.

Qualifications:

Required:

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Operations Research, or other STEM field, plus 10 years of relevant experience, orMaster of Science in Computer Science, Operations Research, or other STEM field, plus 8 years of relevant experienceAt least 2 years of supervisory experienceHigh level of proficiency as an AFSIM ModelerModerate level of proficiency as an AFSIM DeveloperProficiency in C++, Python, or other programming languageActive Top-Secret clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility

Desired:

Master of Science in Computer Science, Operations Research, or other STEM field, plus 12 years of relevant experienceAt least 5 years of supervisory experienceProject Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification, and/orISC2 Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP) or equivalent certificationHigh level of proficiency as an AFSIM DeveloperFamiliarity with other mission-level combat simulation tools such as NGTS, BRAWLER, etc.
