Summary You will serve as a SUPERVISORY WORK AND FAMILY LIFE SPECIALIST in the Fleet and Family Support Centers (FFSC) within Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC), Fleet and Family Readiness Department (N9), Family Readiness Division (N91), Fleet and Family Support Program (FFSP), Gricignano, Italy. Responsibilities You will supervise staff assigned to the Work and Family Life (WFL) program/division consisting of subordinates and/or volunteers to provide guidance, leadership, training, and supervision. You will coach subordinates in the selection and application of appropriate problem-solving methods and techniques; advises on work methods, practices and procedures; and assists in identifying the parameters of a viable solution. You will exercise initiative in developing and managing a variety of educational forums and briefings autonomously to enhance community capacity and thus assist serviced populations in improving WFL skills and knowledge of available resources. You will ensure the provision of a full range of prevention and educational briefs and workshops through Life Skill support to all customers. You will independently develop standardized plans, policies, and procedures for the delivery of WFL services. You will maintain oversight of the WFL budget requirements and ensures that financial records are always in compliance with all directives/policy. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Planning and coordinating programs (i.e., education services, human/personal growth and development) to assist individuals and groups in managing family and life issues; 2) Conducting interviews with single and married military personnel and family members to provide assistance with such things as developing goals /plans and assisting with referral services ; 3) Maintaining liaison with community programs/services to further the family and life program; and 4) Supervising staff assigned to the Work and Family Life unit and organize, set, and monitor the work of the unit based on short-term and long term priorities. Incumbent may be required to travel for the purpose of attending or providing trainings or delivering services aboard ship or other vessels. Hours of duty may vary depending on mission needs some evening and weekend hours may be required. This position is designated Non-Critical Sensitive. Incumbents are required to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance of access for the duration of employment which includes a background investigation containing no convictions of sexual assault or domestic violence, and a credit check' This position may be required to travel to OCONUS sites, requiring the incumbent to obtain applicable vaccinations per DoD requirements and an official passport. This position requires routine on-site access to government facilities. The incumbent may perform the required tasks at an off-site location for situational telework only.
