We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Product Support and Logistics Division as a Supplier Development Engineer in Mossville, IL.

Job Summary:
As a Supplier Development Engineer (SDE), you provide technical expertise and leadership to Caterpillar’s supply base in the execution of a robust quality plan within the suppler network. In addition, the SDE is responsible for implementing a well-documented continuous quality improvement process and strict process controls. This will be used for the evaluation and development of new and existing suppliers worldwide, to optimizing Quality, Cost, Logistics, Delivery, and Management (QCLDM) within the supply network. The SDE ensures that a supplier is able to meet corporate and business unit requirements for Supplier Excellence Recognition (SER) certification levels and customer requirements for quality, cost, and delivery of purchased material.Additional Info:

Lead Category Capacity improvement, including onboarding additional capacity in the supply base (new suppliers and capacity at existing suppliers).Assess and improve supplier performance via on-site Quality, Cost, Logistics, Development, Management (QCLDM) audits, drive implementation of Lean, Built In Quality (BIQ), & Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), continuous reviewing of supplier capacity, and production readiness through rigorous review of supplier Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submission.Manage key supplier performance to result in the development and maintenance of selected suppliers.Lead Continuous Improvement projects related to Quality.Lead SER Certification process and Supplier Performance Management Reviews.Manage/facilitate meetings with Caterpillar and supplier teamsWhat You Have (Required Skills):
Production Part Approval Process (PPAP): Knowledge of Production Part Approval Processes (PPAP) elements, submissions, and objectives; ability to determine whether a supplier can manufacture products that meet the quality requirements and standards of their customers consistently.Manufacturing Standards, Procedures and Policies: Knowledge of organizational standards, procedures and policies in manufacturing activities; ability to plan, guide, and monitor manufacturing processes for compliance.Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.Supplier Evaluations and Certification: Knowledge of supplier evaluations and certification; ability to identify the methods, tools and documentation for evaluating, selecting and certifying vendors, suppliers and partners.Supplier Management - MFG: Knowledge of processes and methods to effectively manage business relationships and transactions with suppliers of raw materials or product components; ability to apply related knowledge, experience and skills into real practice.Usage of Capacity Analysis Knowledge of 6 SigmaWhat Will Put You Ahead (Preferred Skills):

$108,360.00 - $162,480.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
