Supplier Development Engineer II –
Job Summary:
Responsible to take first actions to protect the plant from non-conformant parts from supplier; Coordinate containment activities in local Volvo plant and at supplier, initiate controls and safeguard replacement deliveries when needed in cooperation with material planning; Manage quality performance at the supplier; Continuously improve and develop suppliers to become more efficient and eliminate non-conformance; Perform on-site supplier visit/ audits for root cause analysis, verification of corrective actions implemented and documented at the supplier location; Support supplier development team in the advanced product planning (APQP); Work with Engineering (Design and Manufacturing engineers) team to define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet process and product requirement; Support the Quality Organization to monitor and report on supplier product quality and performance; Lead transformation by developing, programming, or using software to analyze large amounts of data.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Engineering and three years of experience in the job offered or in a manufacturing environment. Special skills – Experience reading complex drawings and schematics; auditing (process audit, internal ISO audits); Automotive quality tools such as APQP/PPAP; Lean Manufacturing principles; Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing experience; and Project management. Occasional domestic travel required (15-20%).
