Full Time Contract Title: Vendor Management (Supplier) Location: Dorado, Puerto Rico Length of Contract: 10 months Company Description: Our client is a global medical technology leader dedicated to transforming lives through innovative medical solutions. They develop, manufacture, and market a broad range of medical devices used in various medical specialties, including Cardiology, Urology and Pelvic Health, Endoscopy, Neuromodulation and Electrophysiology. Position Description: The Vendor Management will be responsible for managing and developing relationships with key suppliers for the client product line. This includes supplier selection, qualification, performance monitoring, continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, ISO 13485). The Vendor Management will collaborate closely with internal teams, including Manufacturing, Quality, R&D, and Procurement, to ensure a robust and efficient supply chain. Responsibilities:
+ Supplier Selection: Identify, evaluate, and select qualified suppliers for manufacturing components and materials.
+ Supplier Qualification: Lead qualification activities, including audits, validations, and documentation review.
+ Performance Monitoring: Establish, maintain, and monitor supplier performance metrics (quality, delivery, cost) and drive improvements.
+ Relationship Management: Manage supplier relationships, contracts, performance reviews, and issue resolution.
+ Quality Issue Resolution: Collaborate with internal teams to resolve supplier-related quality issues and implement corrective actions.
+ New Product Support: Support new product introductions by collaborating with suppliers on component and process development/validation.
+ Regulatory Compliance: Ensure supplier compliance with applicable regulations (e.g., FDA, ISO).
+ Documentation & Risk Management: Manage supplier documentation (specifications, drawings, quality records) and support supplier risk management strategies.
Qualifications:
+ Proven Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in supplier engineering or a related role within the medical device industry. This experience should demonstrate a track record of successfully managing suppliers and improving supply chain performance.
+ Regulatory Expertise: Strong working knowledge of medical device regulations, including FDA 21 CFR Part 820 and ISO 13485. This includes a deep understanding of quality system requirements and compliance standards.
+ Supplier Management Skills: Demonstrated experience with supplier qualification, auditing, and performance management. This includes the ability to develop and execute supplier audits, analyze supplier performance data, and drive continuous improvement.
+ Manufacturing Acumen: Excellent understanding of manufacturing processes and quality systems. This includes knowledge of various manufacturing techniques, quality control methodologies, and process validation.
+ Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify root causes of problems and implement effective solutions. This includes experience with data analysis and statistical interpretation.
+ Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with both suppliers and internal stakeholders. This includes the ability to effectively communicate technical information and collaborate across functional teams.
Education & Certifications:
+ Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Biomedical, Industrial, or related field) required.
