Business Unit Overview 8th Avenue Food & Provisions is a growing organization made up of businesses that produce and sell quality products including pasta, peanut butter, granola, and fruit and nut trail mixes to retail, foodservice and ingredient customers. The company was formed in October 2018 through a combination of Post Holdings’ private brands businesses and is owned by Post Holdings and funds affiliated with Thomas H. Lee Partners, L.P. (“THL”), a private equity firm. Responsibilities Position Summary: The Supplier QFS Auditor provides leadership in supplier approval and on-going qualification. This position is instrumental in the monitoring of supplier performance for quality and food safety. They will ensure all 8th Avenue Food & Provisions suppliers meet our QFS, SQF and applicable regulatory requirements. This position will work closely with Quality Managers/Food Safety, R&D, Commercialization and Procurement to align objectives and activities with 8th Ave needs. Additionally, this position will ensure follow up of all audits conducted to ensure audit close out. Duties and Responsibilities: Supplier Auditing Responsible for assessing suitability of suppliers through on-site and virtual audits including ingredient and packaging suppliers, co-manufacturing operations and warehousing operations. Conduct 2nd party on-site supplier audits for all business units in 8th Avenue including Golden Boy Foods (NB and FN), Attune Foods and Dakota Growers pasta company in the US, Canada and Mexico. Conduct virtual audits in support of FSVP requirements using Google Glasses or other technologies, as applicable. Work cross functionally and collaboratively with all functions to implement, guide and continuously improve supplier quality and food safety. Assess any identified Sanitation Preventive Controls in Food Safety Plans. Assess any identified Process Preventive Controls in Food Safety Plans. Conduct supplier audits to support new business units or locations, as applicable. Create detailed written audit reports for client's management team recapping issues found and observations as well as recommended corrective actions . Provide guidance to suppliers’ staff at all levels on specific subjects: HACCP, EMP, GMP, Integrated Pest Management, Food Defense, Maintenance for Food Safety and Cleaning procedures. Evaluation and acceptance of Supplier Corrective actions for all audit non-conformances. Work with Suppliers for Supplier Deviation Reports (SCAR’s) Root Causes and Preventive actions responses. Track, analyze, and develop improvements of Supplier audit program. Assist with completion of annual audit plan. Assure Supplier audit tracking sheet up to date to enable complete and accurate Tableau reporting. Creation and/or editing of Tableau reports for usable metrics for supplier auditing. Provide Guidance and insights into best industry practices identified while auditing 8th Avenue suppliers and share with inside operations. Intelex Supplier Profiles Work within the Supplier Approval Team to meet key Supplier Approval Program metrics (such as Intelex input of documents, certificates and inspections) for all business units. Enter 8th Avenue audits into Intelex as well as CAPA responses with evidence. Project work in Intelex, as assigned Operations Support: Support recruitment and onboarding of site quality managers/supervisors at 8th Avenue manufacturing plants. Provide training on Supplier Approval program to these positions as needed. Provide training on Intelex SRM module to these positions as needed. Offer support to inside operations as SME, as applicable. Performs other related duties as assigned. Competencies / Skills/ Abilities: Advanced knowledge of GMP’s, Pest Control and Sanitary Design Advanced knowledge of HACCP and all pre-requisite programs Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal). Exceptional knowledge of food manufacturing processes and food safety, especially dried fruit and nut processing Knowledge of statistical and analytical tools and fundamentals. Strong relationship building skills. Exceptional understanding of microbiological organisms and their impact on quality and food safety Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to self-manage & schedule travel related to supplier audit visits. Education and Experience Required: Bachelors’ Degree (BA/BS) from a four (4) year college or university, along with three (3) years of auditing experience or equivalent combination of experience and education. Minimum of 7 years of food industry experience. 10+ years of related auditing experience is preferred. Certification / Licenses: Must posses a valid U.S. Driver’s License. Physical Requirements: This position is regularly required to communicate with others, both oral and written. This position is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Travel: This position travel up to 80% of the time domestically with some international travel, outside of the U.S.
