The Supplier Quality Escalation leads and challenges suppliers throughout the quality problem-solving process at their production site. 

 

The role
The Supplier Quality Escalation (SQM) role is essential for ensuring the delivery of parts according to Scania's specifications. This position involves being present at suppliers' sites, following up on corrective actions for specific technical quality deviations, and requires constant traveling. Based in the Procurement Office in Södertälje, the SQM leads and challenges suppliers throughout the quality problem-solving process at their production sites.

 

Your main tasks

Support all Scania Production Units by ensuring the effectiveness of the suppliers’ activities to contain deviations, define root causes, and corrective actions and implementing them.  Plan and perform supplier visits. Share the results by writing visit reports. Conduct supplier visits to validate supplier analysis and actions and identify gaps and potential improvements. Report to stakeholders, including Scania’s higher management, when required.

We are a team of 5 Supplier Quality Managers immersed in a multicultural environment. We enjoy sharing ideas and experiences while respecting our differences. Even from a distance, we support each other. 

 

As the team manager, I’m based in the Procurement Office in Södertälje, encouraging the team to be responsible and creative, while always being available to support when needed.

 

Who are you?
You likely have a technical university degree or relevant experience in quality assurance, familiar with problem-solving tools like 8D, Ishikawa diagram, and 5 why. 

 

You have a technical interest, are structured, self-motivated, and enjoy helping others. 

 

You thrive in dynamic environments, easily create dialogue at all organizational levels, and are fluent in English to communicate with international suppliers."
