Your mission, roles and responsibilities
The Supplier Quality Development Engineer is responsible to develop supplier quality performance (timing, quality, delivery, service) for a defined list of suppliers. He/She supports the program ASQ, the plant SQA and the serial life buyers to follow-up and improve the overall performance of critical suppliers.
Responsibilities:
Verify suppliers are currently certified to ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 or are actively achieving certificationManages progress/convergence plan with underperforming suppliers involved in program or serial life in collaboration with Supplier Nomination Committee (SNC), program team (ASQ) or plant team (SQA)Assess efficiency and effectiveness of production transfer, productivity actions and engineering change implementationMaintains internal database for supplier meeting minutes, performance tracking or audit statusSupports APQP and PPAP process in Development Phase and Serial LifeProvides recommendations for supplier selection to program team and plant teamSpecial focus on product safety and regulatory compliance during the entire product lifetimeOrganizes workshops with suppliers for continuous improvement on tools and methodsLead monthly Supplier Performance Reviews and monitor the closing of corrective action plansPropose continuous improvement ideas in business efficiency and cost reductionCapitalizes on knowledge and shares best practices / lessons learned across organization and within the siteYour profile and competencies to succeed Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business Management or technician with equivalent combination of education and experience preferred3 years of proven Quality function experience in the Automotive industry. For newcomers, a mentor should be nominatedExperience with various Quality system methodologies: 8D, 3 Legs and 5 Why´s, LEAN manufacturing, Pareto analysis and statistical studiesCertified Auditor in Automotive requirements (ISO 9001/ IATF 16949, VDA, etc.) preferredCertified in all AIAG/VDA Core Tools (PPAP, MSA, FMEA, APQP, SPC) preferredKnowledge of automotive quality standards and methods (ISO-9001, IATF-16949, VDA 6.3, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, etc.)
