Supplier Quality Engineer

In this role, you will ensure that all materials and components supplied to the company meet quality standards and customer requirements by managing supplier performance, driving continuous improvement, and supporting the development of robust quality systems throughout the supply chain.

What will your responsibilities be?

Supplier Quality Management:

Evaluate and approve new suppliers through audits and assessments.Monitor and manage supplier performance using KPIs (e.g., PPM, on-time delivery, audit scores).Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for supplier-related quality issues.

Quality Assurance & Compliance:

Ensure supplier compliance with automotive quality standards (e.g., IATF 16949…).Review and approve PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) submissions.Support APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) activities for new product launches.

Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement:

Lead 8D problem-solving processes with suppliers.Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and improve supplier processes.Collaborate with suppliers to implement preventive actions and process controls.

Documentation & Reporting:

Maintain accurate records of supplier audits, non-conformances, and corrective actions.Prepare regular reports on supplier quality performance for internal stakeholders.Ensure documentation is aligned with internal and customer-specific requirements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Work closely with Purchasing, Engineering, and Production teams to resolve supplier issues.Participate in cross-functional teams for product development and process improvement.Support supplier development and training initiatives.


Which qualifications are we looking for in potential employees?

Engineering degree in quality or industrial management3-5 years of experience in the same position in the automotive industryExperience in a textile or a cover sewing plant is preferableStrong knowledge of quality management systemsProficiency in problem-solving tools: 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram, FMEAExperience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma (Green Belt certification is a plus)Familiarity with Layered Process Audits (LPA), 5S, and VAVEUnderstanding of control plans, PPAP, SPC, and MSACompetence in using Microsoft Office and ERP/MES systemsCustomer-focused mindset with a sense of urgency
