Supplier Quality Engineer

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Lead supplier development projects for strategic suppliers- Improve supplier performance and reduce PPM through the use of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Project Management or generally accepted quality improvement tools; Identify technologies vital for supplier performance improvement; Develop measurements needed to monitor and ensure supplier performance improvement; Develop/maintain supplier relationships. Support strategic procurement projects and initiatives- Evaluation and selection of suppliers in safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Conduct on-site quality system and manufacturing product and process audits; Active participation in the Strategic Procurement Project Management Process; Train suppliers on supplier quality related procedures; Develop/supervise part approval plan for assigned strategic procurement projects; Participate in all technical reviews. Supplier Business Reviews- Assist Supply Chain Team in leading supplier business reviews; Present all relevant supplier performance metrics; Identify and manage all supplier performance action items. Assist manufacturing sites with tactical supplier issues – Work with suppliers to continuously improve performance, implement process controls and develop quality assurance plans. Lead corrective and preventive actions as required from Suppliers 8D’s or nonconformance reports. Work with Quality Engineers/NPD Quality Specialist to develop standards and methods for inspection, testing and evaluation at supplier sites. New Product Development Team Member- Active member in assigned new product development teams; Assist in developing inspection plans and support new product launches to ensure supplier quality meets required standards.

For This Role, You Will Need:

Technical Degree required Relevant years of proven experiences in supplier improvement efforts with demonstrated analytical, communication, project management and decision-making skills commensurate with the level of this position. Must possess project management and auditing skills, be proficient in quality techniques including: FMEA, SPC, DOE, Gage R&R, GD&T and process mapping Knowledge of various quality system methodologies 8D, MSA, FAI, Control Plan, AQL, APQP, Lean, 5 Why’s, Pareto Analysis, Six Sigma, FMEA, PPAP, etc. preferred Experience in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma preferred Able to read mechanical drawings and specifications and understand Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) Strong Microsoft Office skills – Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Visio and Minitab Strong presentation skills Up to 50% travel required.  Must be capable of traveling globally Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

BSME, BSEE, BS Metallurgical Engineering, BSIE, preferred 3+ years experience in supplier improvement efforts with proven analytical, communication, project management and decision-making skills
