Supplier Quality Engineer

The core mission of the Supplier Quality Development Engineering organization is to assure that supplied parts/services meet Moog quality requirements. The Level II Supplier Quality Engineer II (SQE) performs tasks with the highest scope for dynamic review. The SQE role involves the application of advanced principles related to AS9100 and Moog hardware and processing. Participation and ownership of initiatives to support supplier and customer needs, improve Moog product, and deliver quality, using an advanced analytical approach to solve supply chain adversity. Frequently interact with internal and external customers and suppliers. Key tasks may include, but not limited to manufacturing, special processing, inspection processes CoPQ, PPAP, Gage R&R, and RCCA support.

 

To be considered for the Supplier Quality Engineer, here’s what you’ll need to bring with you: 

 

     Bachelor of Science degree or Bachelor of Technology degree with 2 years related experience or MS/MA with 2 years related experience.      2 years of experience with some of the following: NCs, Supplier Quality Development Clinics, 5-Why, 8D, PPAP, Gage R&R, PRA.      2 years of experience working with measurement equipment such as surface plates, height gages, micro height, gage blocks, CMM equipment etc.      Experience with formal problem solving and quality improvement tool and techniques such as (5-Why, Ishikawa, RCCA, 8D, DMAIC etc.).      AS9100 lead auditor training / certification is advantageous.

 

As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for:

 

1.     Independently managing NCs/CAs for assigned suppliers, including 8D management for supplier caused NOEs to Moog customers.

2.     Managing quality non-conformance issues, multidisciplined in manufacturing, special processing, gears, and inspection processes for Quality and Receiving Inspections processes.

3.     Development and implementation of supplier and customer projects, present initiatives and planning throughout project life, improve Moog products to reduce non-conformances to deliver consistent quality, using advanced analytical approach to solve supply chain adversity.

4.     Independently manage ASL for assigned commodities/suppliers, performing periodic assessments and on-site audits as needed.

5.     Ensuring via effective communication and/or training and oversight that Moog requirements flowed to assigned suppliers are clearly articulated, understood, and complied with.

6.     Applying initiative to research historical part and/or supplier technical issues to project manage long-term issues for resolution, and support both Moog and customer (internal and external).

7.     Supporting supplier evaluation, selection, recovery, and performance improvement efforts as directed by the Moog site or Supply Chain commodities.

8.     May perform source inspection/verification tasks when required.

The base pay range for this opportunity is $80,080 - $125,000 per year. The base salary represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed are just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
