Supplier Quality Engineer

As the Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be instrumental in driving supplier improvement efforts, partnering closely with the Global Commodity Sourcing team, and collaborating with internal departments, including Plant Quality, Engineering, Product Management, and Overseas Supplier Quality teams. Working directly with suppliers, you will maintain the supplier quality database, manage supplier metrics, and align supplier surveillance inspections to ensure high-quality standards across all sites. You must have strong leadership in supplier quality management and continuous improvement initiatives.

You Will:

Partner with Watts manufacturing sites to monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions.

Conduct supplier audits to ensure process standardization and quality alignment across sites.

Lead supplier continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with Global Commodity Sourcing.

Own supplier quality improvement plans and drive closure of quality action items.

Act as the primary contact for quality-related issues during supplier selection and maintenance.

Ensure supplier selection aligns with company guidelines and quality standards.

Collaborate with Global Commodity teams to develop and execute regular supplier audits to meet GMP, ISO, and Watts quality standards.

Participate in supplier scorecard reviews, assessing supplier performance in quality, delivery, and service.

Oversee the SCAR program, ensuring corrective actions are implemented and closed with suppliers.

Develop and sustain a world-class Supplier Management Program utilizing Six Sigma and Lean methodologies.

Create and manage an SPC program, evaluating results to assist suppliers in continuous improvement.

Support product transfers to contract manufacturing, creating quality plans and protocols.

Prepare supplier quality metrics for senior management review during periodic evaluations.

You Have:

Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience in Manufacturing.

5+ years of quality engineering experience in the casting and valves industry.

Expertise in Supplier Quality and Quality System requirements within the industry.

Lead Auditor training and experience in supplier audits.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint including developing graphs and presentations required

Experience in driving supplier improvement through audits and corrective actions.

5+ years in-depth knowledge of GD&T and ISO9001/QS 9000 quality systems.

5+ years of experience in product qualification testing, inspection tools, equipment, and supplier quality processes.

Minimum of 50% travel required (including international travel).

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

Work in both office and manufacturing environment. May occasionally be required to perform job duties outside the typical office setting.
