We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Supplier Quality Engineer within our Purchasing team to help support our Hydraulic business. As a Supplier Quality Engineer you will have the opportunity to lead supplier audit and evaluation of new supplier introduction. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by establishing and maintaining supplier quality management system to ensure that the products and services provided by suppliers meet the specified quality standards.
Job description
● Supplier quality management
1,Lead supplier audit and evaluation of new supplier introduction;
2, Establish and maintain supplier quality management system to ensure that the products and services provided by suppliers meet the specified quality standards. Develop supplier quality audit plan, review and evaluate suppliers regularly, and put forward improvement requirements to suppliers.
3, lead the new sample validation process including supplier process capability assessment, sample trial as well as internal/external quality request communication.
● Quality problem handling
1, Work with purchasing department to deal with supplier quality issues that found in IQC and later in production line including investigating, analyzing root cause, and pushing supplier to take effective corrective and preventive actions. Follow up the implementation of supplier quality improvement measures to ensure that problems are completely resolved.
● Quality standard development
1, Monitor supplier quality performance and identifying improvement opportunity, continuously improving supplier capability.
2, Conduct annual audits, following up and verifying the corrective actions.
3, Work with suppliers to develop quality standards and inspection specifications, clarify quality requirements and acceptance criteria. Assist suppliers to optimize their production processes and quality control processes to improve product quality and stability.
● Data analysis and reporting
Collect and analyze supplier quality data, write quality report and provide basis for decision making. Report supplier quality status to superior, propose improvement suggestions and measures.
● Training and guidance
Conduct quality training and guidance for suppliers to improve their quality awareness and the application of quality tool.
Job requirements:
● Education background
College degree or above, major in mechanical engineering, electronic engineering, material science or related.
● Work experience
More than 3 years experience in supplier quality management.
● Professional knowledge
Familiar with quality management system, such as ISO 9001. Knowledge of quality tools and methods.
● Skill Requirements
Good communication and coordination skills, able to work effectively with suppliers and internal teams. Strong ability to analyze and solve problems. Skilled use of office software for data analysis and report writing.
● Professional quality
Have rigorous work attitude and high sense of responsibility. Able to adapt to travel, have a good ability to work under pressure.
● English is a plus
