Job Description

The main objective of a Supplier Quality Engineer is to ensure that products and supplies from vendors are high quality, free of damages/ defects, and standards.

Responsibilities Include:

Advises on increasing the quality of these products and make suggestions to improve manufacturing processes.Overseeing manufacturing processes, logistics, and issues related to supply chain management.Develop relationships with suppliers, act as a liaison between them and company representatives, and create reports and databases of provider information to help ensure the company works with the highest-quality vendors.Drives and further develops relationships with current supply partners to improve daily performance at the lowest cost.Investigate true manufacturing cost and identify opportunities for cost savings with current supply partnersSeek and develop new potential supplier partnersAnalyzes engineering specifications and customer expectations to help in determining sourcing requirementsMonitors and manages supplier on-time delivery and quality performanceCreates and promotes strategies to increase the quality and efficiency of systems and productsCoordinates processes to ensure all purchased materials meet engineering specifications, quality system requirements, cost expectations, inventory requirements, and delivery expectationsMonitor prepared reports for Purchase Price Variance, Key Supplier Metrics, Scrap Levels, Quality, and On-Time DeliveryInitiate and drive implementation of sourcing projects from start to finish

Must Have

BS Degree in Engineering with 3 plus years of Quality Engineering experience OR 5+ years of Quality Engineering experience without degreeExperience in automated MRP/MPS and/or Kanban systems managing inventory control. (Open to any ERP system)Knowledge of Six SigmaAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel; pivot tables, statistical trending, data analysis, etc.CAPA experienceRoot Cause analysis, 8Ds, 5Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, etc)Material Review Board (MRB)/ Return Material Authorization (RMA) experienceExperience working in a manufacturing environmentExperience working with suppliers

Nice to Have

Electronic/Electrical experienceExperience in an ISO 9001:2015 manufacturing environmentIndustry Quality (PPAP, ISO/TS) and Advanced Product Quality Planning experienceASQ Certification

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
