Supplier Quality Engineer (Sand Casting Required)
**A Snapshot of Your Day** As a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE), you will be part of a growing function in a position that entails a large responsibility! In your role, you will collaborate with suppliers and commodity managers with a shared target to secure qualified deliveries from qualified suppliers. We work in a multi-cultural environment with contacts with different departments locally and globally. Networking is a key for success. A part of your responsibility within casting commodity, will be supplier qualifications, product and process qualifications, addressing nonconformances, Root Cause Analysis, and implementing preventative measures & risk mitigation measures. **How You’ll Make anImpact** + Maininterface to supplier on technical and quality aspects. Collaborates withengineering to refine product and process designs to increasemanufacturability to improve quality and decrease costs. Also, interfacewith procurement, quality management on supplier quality topics. + SupplierQualification: Assess supplier's sand-casting capabilities, audit supplierquality management system & processes etc. + Productand Process Qualification: Lead cross-functional team to perform Productand Process Qualification (PPQ) in supply base for sand casted components& assemblies to applicable drawings, process descriptions andstandards. Leading PPQ includes providing technical support to suppliersto succeed in meeting Siemens Energy technical and quality requirementsfor sand casted parts which includes reviewing of proposed simulationmodels, gating system and metal pouring parameters etc. + Approvesupplier casting process via submitted Manufacturing Quality Control Planand FMEAs. + Performproduct inspections during execution of Product and Process Qualification.Inspection includes dimensional & geometrical, functional test andreview of inspection reports. + Identifyand initiate containment on any identified non-conformances. Follow-upwith root cause corrective and preventive action as needed. + Defineinspections and test plans for sand casted parts according to SiemensEnergy drawings and specifications. + SupplierDevelopment: Support supplier evaluation based on regular analysis ofsupplier quality performance. Initiate and implement supplier qualityimprovement programs, quality root cause analysis and definition ofappropriate risk mitigation measures at the supplier. + Assistcommodity / strategic buyer in identifying new suppliers and providerecommendations for sourcing strategy. + Responsibilityto comply and / or implement the protocols, policies, guidelines, andproficiencies of the current integral management system (EHS, Qualityetc.) **What You Bring** + Bachelor’sdegree or equivalent experience in sand casting, foundry engineering,material engineering. + 5+years of professional experience as a Casting Expert / ManufacturingEngineer and/or Supplier Quality Engineer with expertise in Sand Casting. + Youare experienced in qualifying suppliers for sand casted parts for largerotating and reciprocating equipment’s using Product and ProcessQualification process which is equivalent to PPAP / APQP. + Youhave experience in leading projects and running virtual cross-functionalteams in an international environment. You are a self-starter, driven andself-reliant; your organization, strategic, analytical thinking,leadership skills and intercultural expertise round up your profile! + Computerskills: MS Office, SAP ERP + Willingnessto travel domestically and internationally up to 20-40% of time. + Applicantsmust be legally authorized for employment in the United States withoutneed for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, skills, certifications, and other business needs.
