This is a dual role as a Supplier Quality Engineer and Failure Analysis Engineer.
As the Supplier Quality Engineer, you will drive Supplier Quality improvements for the Canrig Manufacturing Global Supply Chain. This all-encompassing role includes owning and driving accountability for supplier qualification programs, supplier performance reporting and corresponding improvement actions and plans where needed, developing and monitoring supplier scorecards and taking action towards improving supplier performance, ensuring supplier conformance to manufacturing and quality specifications, and building relationships with suppliers in order to enable robust Master Pricing Agreements to be crafted. In this role you will be accountable for annual supplier requalification and auditing and will be a partner to our global suppliers. Help our suppliers in developing Lean process approaches and supporting supplier failure investigation and root cause analysis determination with respective corrective action.
As the Failure Analysis Engineer, you will be responsible for coordinating failure analysis on various Canrig equipment and product components, including product failure in the field and product and/or component failure associated with supplier quality. In this role you are accountable for taking the lead on investigations using sound testing and analysis methodologies to determine the source of failure, including lab testing, physical testing, material testing, and process testing as examples. It is incumbent in this role to have a strong knowledge of both technical and scientific based root cause analysis methods in order to drive to failure determinations tied to and supported by data. In this role you will be responsible for taking decision on product recalls, and both long- and short-term risk mitigation when a systemic failure may be discovered.

Supplier Quality Engineer Responsibilities
Manage the execution of Supplier Quality activities for global suppliers, such as (but not limited to): Supplier Qualification, Supplier Surveillance, Supplier nonconformance management resolution, Supplier scorecard performance, root cause analysis and component/part failure analysis and support supplier with process correction implementation.
Stimulate a Quality driven and Continuous Improvement mentality in supplier’s organization, with mutually trustful and proficient relationships.
Collaborate internal to Canrig with Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Project Managers, Quality and Warehouse teams to enable effective supplier issue resolution, root cause analysis determination and corrective action implementation, especially when issue is internal to Canrig, resulting in supplier challenges.
Collaborate with Procurement and Engineering/Mfg. Engineering and Quality to manage supplier deviation requests.
Manage supplier non-conformance resolution and be a resource to the suppliers for considering and implementing Lean concepts, supporting continual improvement methodologies, and guiding supplier to effective process corrections when needed.

Failure Analysis Engineer Responsibilities
Facilitates a data driven analysis of Canrig product/part failures from Field Operations and/or Supplier non-conformance.
Take the lead on applying forensic failure analysis methods using technical and scientific knowledge to determine the most appropriate forensic analysis for the nature of the failure.
Strong demonstrated competency in conducting potentially complex root cause analysis determination of failure and responsible for driving process or other improvements for elimination or sustainable correction of the failure point.
Authority to initiate product and/or equipment recalls within a collaborative decision-making process to include Engineering, Quality, Procurement, Field Operations Management, Mfg. Engineering and Production Management.
Employees a Lean Six Sigma mindset and approach as necessary to failure investigations.
Makes product improvement recommendations when failure trends indicate a systemic or recurring product defect.
Able to develop trend analysis of failures and recognize recurring issues and take initiative to open further review.
Drafts formal Failure Analysis summary reports of problem, investigative methods, data results and action taken or recommended to be taken.

**EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE**
Engineering Degree.
15 years of engineering experience and 5 years in manufacturing environment.
**LANGUAGE SKILLS**
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
**MATHEMATICAL SKILLS**
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
**REASONING ABILITY**
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Lean Manufacturing or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification
Oil & Gas Industry experience in heavy industrial equipment.
Strong knowledge and understanding of Quality Management Systems, ISO 9001/API Q1Current ISO/API Lead Auditor Training/Certification from accredited company (Certified in last 5 Years)
Critical processes knowledge, (coating, welding, NDE, heat treatment)
