Supplier Quality Manager - Major Projects & Modernization

Job Overview

The Supplier Quality Manager - Major Projects & Modernization is responsible for indirectly leading the production lines of suppliers and relevant people at the supplier concerned with implementing quality improvements at suppliers (e.g. quality managers, industrial engineers, plant managers).

Job Duties

Leads and manages the regional Major Projects & Modernization SQM work in a geographic region (e.g. Americas)

Represents SQM in cross-functional Major Projects & Modernization teams.

Develops, communicates and ensures execution of SQM Major Projects & Modernization initiatives within the region in alignment with the global and regional category plan.

Participates and develops Supply Quality plan and risk assessment in coordination with Supply Managers.

Participates on Major Project & Modernization supplier selection for critical components.

Drives and executes supplier quality activities for major project validation, including First Article inspection (FAI), specific material inspection, mockup, etc.

Ensures execution of KONE procurement and supplier quality management strategy and targets in the region.

Leads, coaches, involves and develops SQM Major Projects & Modernization team members.

Conducts supplier audit, per annual audit plan.

Prepares and keeps updated the Quality Annex, as part of supplier contract, in close cooperation with Contract owner.

Measures and reports supplier KPIs.

Participates in supplier scorecard process and discusses the results with suppliers in close cooperation with KONE contract owner.

Identifies and drives corrective and recovery actions with suppliers.

Participates in supplier negotiations as required to ensure supplier quality commitment.

Supports definition and ensures compliance with sourcing and KONE policies, processes and procedures.

Ensures compliance with quality, safety and environmental standards.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Attributes (KSAOs)

Auditing of suppliers

Supplier performance management

Supplier Qualification

ISO 9001/14001/18001

Knowledge of Methods and tools related to (supplier) quality management such as quality control plans, Critical to Quality, Statistical Process Control, Failure-Mode-Effect Analysis, DMAIC Methodology, Six Sigma and Lean, Mistake proofing

Category understanding of the relevant category

Understanding of manufacturing processes and technologies within the relevant categories

Stakeholder management skills

Basic contract management skills

Basic understanding of the supplier market in the relevant category/geography

Hiring Requirements

At the minimum B.SC level technical / quality / industrial Eng degree

Same as MP Supplier Quality Engineer and in addition

Minimum 6-10 years of experience in industrial engineering, manufacturing processes and methods, supplier quality management, quality engineering, manufacturing environment, supply chain management, procurement or other relevant area

Proven team leadership / cross-functional skills

Fluent level of English spoken and written, additional languages is a plus.

The hiring range for this role is $121,840.00 to $167,530.00 USD.  The compensation package offered will depend on the candidate’s ability to meet the requirements of the role and a range of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to their skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and location.
