Job Summary:

The Supplier Quality Product Commodity Engineer  - Electronics is the primary quality interface between Raytheon’s organization and the external supply base for key Electronics suppliers.  The SQPC is responsible for the Quality Improvement, Business Level Management, and development of key suppliers.   The SQPC will perform as a unified quality voice working closely with supply chain in strategic commodity plans, source selection and risk mitigation activities at our key and critical electronics suppliers.  The SQPC role includes execution of Supplier Assessments, continuous improvement projects, contract related quality assessments, and problem resolution.  The SQPC represents Raytheon professionally and supports Raytheon’s Vision, Values, Strategy and Goals in the supply base.

Location Information:

This position is a remote assignment as a Supplier Quality Product Commodity Engineer residing in the Southwest region of the United States, preferably in the PA region. This assignment requires an estimated travel of 40% to suppliers reporting to the Supplier Quality Product Commodity – Electronics Team.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

Developing process improvement strategies and risk mitigation activities to be utilized across supply base / commoditiesClosely interface with external and internal customers and key partners to establishing effective relationships.Leverage quality best practices to influence business decision-makers, ensuring efforts focus on customer priorities and mission success requirements.Assessing subcontractor/supplier quality capabilities throughout the program life cycle to achieve full program objectivesMust have the ability to manage and impact multiple levels of stakeholders.Identifying supplier risk and systemic performance issues ensuring root-cause analysis and corrective solutions are identified and implemented with closure plansDriving continuous product / process improvements using statistical / analytical improvement tools such as Six Sigma and lean methodologiesInterpreting purchase order quality notes and quality requirements to ensure subcontractor/supplier understanding and complianceWorking with other Quality functions and Cross Business Teams (CBTs), to affect rapid closure of issues utilizing analytical capabilities and communications skillsSupporting supplier assessments, audits, and reviews

Qualifications You Must Have:

Typically requires a Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum 8 years relevant experience.Experience working within commercial and aerospace / defense regulations and standards - AS9100, AS9102, ISO-9000, AS9145Experience managing and leading suppliers with Root Cause Corrective Action methods such as 5 Why, Fishbone, etc.Experience working process improvement initiativesExperience in collecting and analyzing supplier dataThe ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer:

Six Sigma, Lean and / or American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certification (CQE, CQM/OE, CSQE, CQA, CRE, etc.)Experience in DoD product and process oversight including requirements, build, integration, test and deliveryExperience with industry technical standards (such as IPC, ANSI, CMMI, ASTM, etc.)Experience in collaborating with engineering, manufacturing operations, and supply chain.Strong technical engineer with excellent communication skills that exhibits presence and influence.  Ability to summarize complicated technical topics quickly and concisely

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
