Our client in the healthcare, hospitals, and social assistance industry located in Dallas, Texas is seeking a Materials Operations Manager to oversee their supply chain operations. This role focuses on ensuring efficient inventory management, timely delivery, and strong collaboration with clinical teams. This is a contract opportunity with the possibility to go permanent. This is 100% onsite.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily operations including inventory receiving, picking, staging, and distribution to clinical departments.
• Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure adequate supply levels in stock closets.
• Improve workflows, such as scanning inventory for automated replenishment, cart staging, and deliveries to departments.
• Promptly respond to urgent calls regarding supply shortages and resolve inventory issues.
• Develop a team responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, stock rotation, and timely delivery.
• Utilize ERP systems to track inventory usage, identify inefficiencies, and ensure appropriate stock levels.
• Support strategic initiatives, including budget preparation, technology upgrades, and process improvements within the Materials Management division.
• Ensure compliance with hospital performance improvement targets and maintain high customer satisfaction levels.
• Communicate effectively with hospital staff, including nurses, doctors, and external representatives, to address supply chain needs and resolve issues.
• Collaborate with specialized teams responsible for purchasing, analytics, and inventory management to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a materials operations management role within the healthcare, hospitals, or social assistance industry.
• Proficient in ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning and other ERP solutions.
• Familiarity with 'About Time' software.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Experience in KPI Reporting.
• Comprehensive understanding of logistics within the healthcare industry.
• Prior experience in manufacturing, specifically in a healthcare environment.
• Expertise in supply chain management, including supply chain modules and strategy.
• Knowledge of Supply Chain Logistics, Oracle Supply Chain Management.
• Proven track record in managing business operations.
• Ability to maintain adequate inventory and experience with automated inventory systems.
Soft Skills:
+ Strong sense of urgency and ability to respond quickly to operational challenges.
+ Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with hospital staff, including clinicians and leadership.
+ Adaptability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Preferred Experience:
+ Supply chain management experience, preferably in healthcare (but not required).
+ Experience managing inventory control, warehouse operations, and distribution workflows.
+ Familiarity with ERP systems like PeopleSoft and working knowledge of MS Office Suite.
Software: MS Office Suites, People Soft 9.2, Some Android Devices
Excel skills/tools: Basic Excel knowledge (advanced skills are a nice-to-have but not required)
