As part of the talented Brunswick Boat Group supply chain team, the Category Buyer for Chemicals will support strategic procurement efforts across Brunswick Boat Group for all Direct procurement spend. Reporting to the Chemical Sourcing Manager, this position will support sub-categories within the $100M+ Chemical Sourcing global spend encompassing all aspects of business, category, and supply base management. In addition, this position will manage direct material categories to establish short and long-term strategies for continued cost optimization, value improvement, supplier relationship development, and risk mitigation.

The position will assist in a supply chain transformation to enhance capabilities and drive step-change improvements across the division. The role is the procurement partner in support of some of the most iconic boat brands in the industry across 12 manufacturing locations. This position will establish relationships with internal and external partners across segments, divisions and functions. The ideal candidate should possess a proactive attitude and be self-motivated.

Building the Brand

Support strategic sourcing initiatives, with development understanding of strategic sourcing processNegotiate supply contracts and develop supplier strategiesProvide market specific data analysis and reportingDevelop and manage relationships with external suppliers and internal divisions and monitor performance to assure quality of serviceEngage internal stakeholders to understand business objectives and desired outcomesIdentify and develop new/current suppliers globally and in region who have the capacity and capability to meet the cost, quality and service needs of the business

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain, business or related field5+ years related within supply chain, procurement or engineering, to include working across business groups, in manufacturing environment preferredExcellent attention and orientation toward meticulous workStrong interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to influence others and adapt to changing priorities

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong time-management and prioritization skills, able to multi-task and prioritize competing requirements and meet deadlinesStrong conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPointExperience with oversight of logistics/transportation

Working Conditions:

Travel 10-15%Hybrid position can be based near any BBG US location
