The role you’ll contribute:
The Supply Chain Director is responsible for developing, implementing, measuring, and leading all facility supply chain strategies and efforts. This position is responsible for meeting key hospital strategic objectives and translating the vision of the future of AH Supply Chain into an actionable strategy for Supply Chain at the hospital level, e.g. focusing on supply chain excellence internally. Strategic goals could include building a competitive materials management infrastructure, optimizing logistics, synchronizing supply and demand, measuring performance, embedding leading practice and ensuring continuous improvement. This position is responsible for the Supply Chain department and associated operations, staffing, training, budget, policies and overall performance management. The Supply Chain Director champions implementation of corporate-directed Supply Chain initiatives and communicates recommendations and opportunities to the Regional Supply Chain Director, Hospital CFO, and other hospital leaders and clinicians. The role is also responsible for understanding and collaborating with clinical and non-clinical department directors on all non labor expenses to ensure delivery of lowest total cost of supplies, equipment and services while supporting the clinical, functional, operational and quality criteria necessary to fulfill the hospital mission.

•Creates a strategic, operational, and financial department plan to achieve the mission and vision of the departments. Understands the hospital goals and objectives and develops a department plan, complete with long and short-term objectives
•Directs the integrated Supply Chain program for the facility, ensuring optimal service levels of goods, supplies, services and equipment to meet all patient care requirements and the realization of cost-effective inventory investments
•Oversees the day-to-day operations of the Supply Chain department
•Manages, assesses, and develops all Supply Chain staff, identifying skill and capability gaps amongst staff and creating and implementing plans to close those gaps
•Works collaboratively with corporate sourcing for the acquisition of capital, construction projects, new service lines, and other strategic initiatives
•Works collaboratively with AH Supply Chain /Shared Services to ensure open communication and issue resolution with the local facility
•Develops and manages department budgets for all assigned departments
•Utilizes corporate analytics resources to inform strategic decision making; interprets data and reports to make informed recommendations and decisions and communicates them to facility, regional, and corporate leadership
•Responsible for leadership and achievement of organizational supply chain financial and process improvement targets
•Implements internal controls and reporting to track and ensure compliance with corporate policies, procedures, processes, contracts, and standardized reporting when applicable
•Manages vendor relations assuring compliance to corporates/hospital policies
•Establishes tracking and processes improvement activities to ensure customer service excellence
•Responsible for the value analysis process within facility to include objective, data-based decision process, compliance and performance monitoring compared to approved parameters, communication and implementation of all local and corporate contracting and/or utilization decisions
•Establishes relationships and collaborates with clinical and non-clinical department managers, AH Supply Chain, Regional Supply Chain Director, and the Hospital CFO on projects related to non-labor expense control, contracts,
alternatives, and/or management of supplier relationships.
•Collaborates with Clinical Resource Managers to build strong relationships with physicians
•Collaborates with Clinical Resource Managers, Regional Supply Chain Directors, and hospital value analysis committees to support value analysis process at facility, regional, and corporate levels
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
· Ability to provide leadership, strategic direction, oversight and management for a supply chain function, working at hospital level
· Demonstrated ability in leading improvement projects, driving operational efficiency and effectiveness, enhancing
· customer service, increasing quality and minimizing risk
· Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
· Proficient use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
· Working knowledge of all Supply Chain operations
· Capable of completing value analysis processes
· Deep understanding of contracting and capital equipment procurement
· Recognized leadership accomplishments
· Demonstrated understanding of clinical/functional departments and hospital operations
· Demonstrated competence using supply chain /ERP systems
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
o Proficient at using PeopleSoft ERP system
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· Bachelors 5 years experience
· 3-5 years Leadership Experience
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
o EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
§ Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years' experience working in supply chain department
§ OR
§ > 10 years' experience working in a supply chain department
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
· Five years of leadership experience
· Previous experience as a hospital materials manager
· Master's degree preferred
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

· One or more of the following Supply Chain Certifications:
· AHRMM Certified Materials & Resource Professional (CMRP)
· Association for Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) certification
· Certified Medical Insurance Specialist (CMIS)
· Six Sigma
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Supervises facility-level Supply Chain staff
