Supply Chain Generalist

 

SUMMARY OF ROLE:

The Supply Chain Generalist will expedite the flow of work and materials within or between departments of an establishment according to the production schedule. Determine progress of work and completion dates; and compiling reports on progress of work, inventory levels, costs, and production problems.  Analyze the movement, storage, or processing of inventory.  Examine existing procedures or opportunities for streamlining activities to meet product distribution needs. The Supply Chain Manager will fulfill the responsibilities of this role when vacant.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

As an at-will employer, SIG (formerly Scholle IPN) reserves the right to add to or modify this list to the extent it deems necessary. Maintain master data in MRP systems. Report on KPI’s (daily, weekly and monthly). Assist with demand and capacity planning initiatives. Support the timely use and disposition of all types of inventories to avoid excess, obsolete and aged inventory. Ensure raw materials and finished products are supplied to internal and external customers on a timely basis. Review documents, such as production schedules, work orders, or staffing tables, to determine personnel or materials requirements or material priorities. Support process improvement initiatives. Examine documents, materials, or products and monitor work processes to assess completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards and specifications. Confer with establishment personnel, vendors, or customers to coordinate production or shipping activities and to resolve complaints or eliminate delays. Requisition and maintain inventories of materials or supplies necessary to meet production demands. Support activities to achieve all KPI’s and metrics associated with all supply activities (i.e., ordering, receiving, inventorying, shipping, etc.). Confer with supply chain planners to forecast demand or create supply plans that ensure availability of materials or products. Analyze inventories to determine how to increase inventory turns, reduce waste, or optimize inventory levels. Participate in the coordination of engineering changes, product line extensions, or new product launches to ensure orderly and timely transitions in material or production flow. EDUCATION:

High school diploma or G.E.D required. Bachelors’ degree from a four-year college or university preferred.
