An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Boeing Defence UK Supply Chain team!

We are looking for dynamic and ambitious procurement professionals to join the Boeing UK Supplier Management & Procurement Team in the Industrial Partnerships and Future Growth team. This role will include Procurement Agent and Social Governance responsibilities outlined below. The role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the Defence Digital campaign initiatives and the implementation of innovative Social Governance policies.

The successful candidate will be a key interface for the Supplier Management and Procurement function acting as an authorised agent of the company with responsibility for digital campaign related activities and have the authority to commit company resources through contracts and agreements.  

This role also offers the opportunity to get involved in BDUK’s important Social Governance priorities and will support the Social Governance team.  The successful candidate will require an ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, demonstrating agility in response to the evolving demands of campaign work and the implementation of new government policies, legislation, enterprise and BDUK initiatives related to social governance requirements.

The role will require some travel to other BDUK sites to undertake the work, participate in workshops, attend industry events and other activities with the wider BDUK organization.

Responsibilities:

Campaign bid responsibilities:

Implement Supplier management and procurement ensuring compliance with associated Boeing processesIntegrates programme, customer product and in-service strategies into overall Supply Chain solution developmentCreation of the supply chain architecture strategy and support internal make buy strategies and workshare decisions to best meet the customer needsSupport development of bid packages including supplier source selection and proposal evaluation (in compliance with the Boeing Enterprise Standard Gated Process)Establish flexible and innovative contracting strategies and industry partnershipsNegotiate pricing and contract terms and conditions including software licence termsPrepare, review and implement negotiated contractual documents and binding agreements including Proprietary Information AgreementsConduct risk, issue and opportunity managementSupport the management of supplier schedules, quality delivery and financial performanceInitiates and completes supplier improvement activities and integrates results into contracting strategiesProvide strategic and transactional support to the purchase of goods and services where requiredSupport the development and maintenance of relationships and partnerships with senior collaborators, peers and relevant functional areasAttendance as required at workshops, meetings, and Supplier Visits (including engagement with new/existing Suppliers)Development of bid and proposal responses subject to business need

Social Governance responsibilities:

Work with International Procurement and Business Development teams including the support to identifying potential UK Suppliers for emerging requirements that have been identified by US and other Boeing international sitesWork with senior members of industry (e.g. Department of Business and Trade, ADS) and Boeing business groups.Support or lead as required the identification, review and assessment of UK Supplier capabilities and opportunities in delivering requirements to support cross platform/programme requirements through transfer of work and future multi-year competitionsLiaise with SM&P programme teams to keep track of secured future opportunitiesPreparation of material for briefings, meetings and formal working groups (BDUK and Boeing Company)Support or lead as required the implementation of BDUK Social Value strategy and Social Value reportingSupport or lead as required the review and impact analysis of new government policies and public procurement noticesSupport or lead as required the BDUK’s SME Action plan development, implementation and progress reporting to UK governmentSupport or lead as required the BDUK Sustainability initiatives and flowdown of activity into the UK Supply ChainDevelopment of bid and proposal responses subject to business need

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in working within a high impact bid and proposal teamsExperience in proposals, contract terms and conditions development, and negotiation effortsExperience working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Experience supporting cross-functional teamsAbility to acquire UK SC security clearanceInterpersonal skills and customer focus are essential to be successful in the roleLeadership and the ability to develop and implement decisionsCollaborative working with others from across the program and functions to find creative solutions and resolve issuesExperience in leading projects; including management of schedule and issues, risks and opportunities, performance reporting of the project; providing information about the progress to senior management and creating and implementing corrective action plans as requiredExperience with reporting and analytics (SAP knowledge preferred)

Desirable Qualifications:

Experience in bid and proposal campaign workExperience in new programmes and supporting programme start-up plans5+ years of experience in the related fieldCIPS – Level 4 or working towards.
