Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Supply Chain Intern to join the Data Center Power & Control Division Starline Team in Canonsburg, PA. The Supply Chain intern at Starline will work with a team of planners and buyers who develop and implement a master production schedule that is linked to the monthly sales and operation plan. The intern will have the opportunity to learn about how to plan and establish production schedules, maintain supplier schedules, monitor material inventories and work in collaboration with the Inventory and Warehouse Manager. Additional focus will be on tracking production progress, reviewing factors which affect production and how recommendations are made for remedial action. This role offers hands-on experience in various supply chain activities, associated with ordering and expediting of components, packaging materials, raw materials, invoicing, managing safety stocks, quality and VRMA activities, ensuring that all timelines related to the supply chain are adhered to and proceed in an efficient manner to ensure on time delivery and customer satisfaction.
What Will You Do?
Understand accuracy of the daily production schedules for all departments to set achievable targets and meet customer requirements.Liaison with Strategic Sourcing in management activities with key suppliers. Participate in supplier QBR’s as needed.Monitors Syteline data, inventory reports, and other data resources to understand proper on hand quantities and proper system settings.Use capacity planning tools to coordinate with the Production team to change production rates and/or line configurations with available labor.Provide daily production/shipping performance updates against established goal.Participate in scheduling of new products (samples, first production runs, etc.)Participate in daily or weekly supplier meetings; engage in supplier report cards discussions.Liaison with engineering drafting team as needed.Participate in monthly safety walks. Education:
Currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Operations Management or related discipline. Completion of one or more semesters of related coursework.Main Job Duties:
Participate in the monthly financial closing process.Assist with financial reporting analysis and data transfer to consolidation package.Assist with Purchase Order and Accounts Payable Software.Vendor Portal Setup with Supplier information.Draft communications to Vendors regarding various items.Participate in Internal Controls development and audit.Automate Freight accrual process.Update reports the Budgeting and Forecasting tool.Other finance and accounting projects as assigned.Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
Requires close attention to detail and strong organizational skills.Must have strong verbal and written communications skills.Strong technical aptitude, particularly in the development of Excel spreadsheets.Proficient with Microsoft Office and Excel.Display strong analytical problem-solving skills and critical thinking capability.Good work ethic and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.Personal Qualities/Behaviors:
Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas where under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and mandatory hearing protection.Regularly required to stand; walk and communicate with others.Ability to sit for extended periods of time.Ability to lift up and carry to 25 pounds.
