PRIMARY PURPOSE
Under the directions of the Manager of Supply Chain and with safety, efficiency, and customer service a priority, the Logistics specialist will be responsible for receiving, inspecting, inventorying and tagging supplies, equipment, or furniture as required. The employee will demonstrate an ability to operate in a high-paced healthcare setting to prioritize and deliver orders throughout the hospital system to clinical areas in a timely manner using assigned technology hardware.
MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS
Education:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Experience:
Minimum of three years of Logistics/ Supply Chain Management, preferably in Healthcare Industry.
Equivalent Education and/or Experience:
May have an equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of specific education and/or experience as stated above.
Certification/Registration/Licensure:
Valid Driver's License required.
Skills or Special Abilities:
Knowledgeable and familiar with MS Office specifically Word and Excel. Experience utilizing ERP system. Experience in scanning/barcoding using RFID & RTLS Systems. Systematic approach and attention to detail. Possess great customer service skills and have a customer-centric attitude. Ability to establish priorities and plan functions in support of patient care. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to work in a team setting. Display problem solving, organizational, and time management skills.
Responsibilities:
1. Receive, unpack, inspect and store incoming materials and supplies as well as verify the accuracy of the shipments and orders against authorized document.
2. Conduct quality checks ensuring packaging integrity and sterility for all orders are within established conformance.
3. Identify and report discrepancies or damage of orders to request return material authorization/credit memorandum.
4. Assists in unloading shipments from delivery truck using dollies, forklifts, and other moving equipment to transport shipments from loading dock to assigned areas while demonstrating awareness of proper safety procedures/practices.
5. Prepare and process outbound parcels for domestic and international shipping.
6. Plays an active role in the maintenance of accurate stock balances and perform daily transactional tasks within the ERP system as they pertain to inventory.
7. Demonstrate an ability to operate in a high-paced, productive environment to support all internal customer requirements in a timely, professional manner.
8. Actively resolves and fulfills all customer requests and inquiries and escalate as required.
9. Have a detailed understanding and attainment of all product quantities requested to include quality shipping and packaging requirements.
10. Prioritize the flow of orders and coordinate delivery with focus on accuracy efficiency, and time management.
11. Distribute supplies and equipment throughout the hospital to include off site locations in the Parkland Health and Hospital System and maintain accountability through automated tracking system.
12. Contact distributors to inquire about shipment delays and reports any major or unresolved shipment discrepancies to management.
13. Demonstrate the ability to accurately managed asset records from cradle to grave for capital equipment. This may include equipment classified as loaned assets or equipment used at PHHS for demonstration.
14. Ability to identify and create records for capital assets and verify taggable assets codes prior to receiving.
15. Adhere to the tagging process for equipment to create records for inventory data base.
16. Match quantity and product description with label description for accurate and efficient order fulfillment.
17. Make adjustments in company software as necessary to keep physical inventory in balance with perpetual inventory.
18. Perform cycle inventory counts and organizes regularly scheduled physical inventories, with management guidance.
19. Perform ERP transactions for received goods and distribute materials appropriately.
20. Possess good verbal etiquette with ability to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers.
21. Operate and ensure all material-handling equipment is maintained, including regular preventive maintenance inspections.
22. Assure working area is secure, clean and that all safety hazards are properly identified and reported to ensure compliance with Safety regulations.
23. Driving duties as required to locations within the Parkland Health and Hospital System.
24. Perform clerical duties as required for the position and as needed by leadership team.
25. Perform related duties as assigned or as situation dictates.
