\nThis position is responsible for ensuring that strategic material planning processes are in place to enable operational and production continuity. They will contribute to the creation and implementation of best practices, company vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve raw material planning performance. Takes a coordinating lead, working closely with internal and external parties to ensure supply of materials are in place to satisfy production requirements. Able to deliver efficient, effective and flexible solutions to meet production requirements. This role holds people and budgetary management responsibilities for working capital management for assigned business units.
Manage, coach and develop a high performing team that meets agreed objectives which delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements. Ensure that material scheduling strategies and processes are in place and work effectively to ensure. material supply meets production requirements with minimum stock levels, while optimizing cost. Take ownership of material planning issues that arise, including over or under delivery and take any follow up actions especially in the event of material shortages that affect production Work closely with the sourcing team to ensure sourcing strategies are optimized. Assess volume requirements against planning assumptions. Manage inventory risk and ensure that contingency plans are in place. Seek and recommend solutions to overcome issues arising in order to meet production requirements and address operational risks. Ensure that any Material Requirements Planning system or IT system in place is effective and that data is accurate and up to date and resolve any issues as required. Investigate and implement system enhancement initiatives. Resolves discrepancies and issues in invoices and purchase orders. Responsible for communication between operations, sales, customer service, quoting and suppliers to ensure that adequate raw material is received, and proper information is obtained. Manage multiple tasks with varying timelines/priorities in a fast-paced environment. Supplier ownership/relationship management. Complete month end activities to support cash flow forecasting and working capital management. Support/lead cross functional improvement projects driving increased profitability. Support New Product Introduction trials and item master data set-ups. \n Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent Work experience, required 5+ years of relevant experience in purchasing, planning, and supplier management Proven management skills with the ability to optimize team performance and development Excellent communication, leadership, project management and relationship building skills Strong analytical, business process analysis and problem-solving capabilities Be highly “process driven” and continuously improve the supply chain buying/planning. Strong organizational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. High motivation and results-oriented work ethic Adaptability-able to work in a fast-paced environment.
