Supply Chain Manager

Education & Certifications

Bachelor’s degree in a business administration (Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Research, or Economics) or equivalent. Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, customer service or equivalent. 5+ years of progressive work experience in Supply Chain with a history of demonstrated business success. APICS certification preferred

Qualification & Experience

Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Organizational skills are essential. Strong planning, financial, and analytical skills and proven ability to apply these with deft business acumen to complex situations with competing priorities. Excellent networking, communication, negotiation, and persuasion skills with a proven ability to partner with senior leaders to understand needs and deliver solutions that exceeds expectations. Proven track record of effectively managing others Professional experience that includes exposure to multiple business models and / or varying company settings. High mix/Low Volume Supply Chain Management experience a plus Dynamic team player with demonstrated ability to build and develop high performing teams Strong computer skills including the ability to prepare spreadsheets and effectively utilize Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Power Point and/or Access) to analyse data and trends. Demonstrated ability to motivate people, assess and develop employee skills. Kiwi and SAP systems expertise a plus.

Areas of Responsibility include but are not inclusive: 

·         Lead the areas of Scheduling and Logistics

·         Create, manage, and monitor KPI’s in the areas of customer service, scheduling and logistics.

·         Plan and implement the DS Smith supply chain strategy.

·         Identify process bottlenecks and implement solutions in a timely manner.

·         Train, educate grow your team members, provide constructive feedback 

·         Work with finance, sales, and manufacturing teams to determine optimal plans

·         Responsible for updating and providing input to the monthly Sales & Operations Planning (SOP) process

·         Lead internal processes related to new product qualification and launches to ensure timely transitions in material and production flow

·         Managing the impact of changes to the system from a cost / service trade-off perspective

·         Highlight KPI measurements for accountability: OTIF, Inventory Days/Turns, Schedule Adherence, etc

·         Responsible to have expertise, superuser for facility on systems

·         Be the liaison between sales and production (i.e. – can this be run effectively, celebrate victories, talk to crews)

·         Review with production and customer service when new customers are brought in (excitement, information sharing)

·         Review warehouse levels monthly

Work with Sales manager and reps on slow and non-moving inventory validate specifications of items in Kiwi as double-check for CS and Sales, and to confirm margin (or margin gain) reporting Run monthly reports and work to adjust warehousing levels on items
