Role Overview and ResponsibilitiesSummary: The Supply Chain Manager leads the department to execute best-in-class planning, sourcing, and procurement for Perry facility and supports strategic global procurement activities. This is a key senior role across all aspects of strategic and tactical management of materials. This role has ownership of all aspects of inventory, material costs, and on-site logistics. The Supply Chain Manager works closely with the Production, Engineering, Quality, and Commercial teams in pursuit of continuous productivity improvement, supplier negotiation, supplier development and asset management while assuring timely delivery of materials and services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Owns the planning, sourcing, and purchasing functions within the facility, developing strategies to improve On Time performance of material availability, and works with suppliers on cost and supply strategies.Manages a team of 12-15 direct reports. Leads the functional people agenda to build robust succession plans, rich SCM talent pools and promote the benefit and value of an integrated functional team.Responsible for optimisation of inventory to improve cash position of the business.Drives improvements in the site’s SIOP process to deliver accurate output, capacity, and financial plans, in line with customer and business expectations regarding cashflow, revenue and profit. Identifies and evaluates supply chain challenges faced by the business and within the industry, and takes action to mitigate risks and develops opportunities, such as ensuring supplies can be obtained from multiple sources or produced through alternative facilities.Ensures purchasing policies, guidelines, and commercial compliance are in place and updated when required and works collaboratively with teams (i.e. Internal Audit, Health/Safety/Environmental, and Sustainability, etc.) across the business to build robust internal procedures. Ensures a deep collaboration with the Finance team to support forecasting and budgeting activities throughout the planning cycle.Works internally with cross functional teams to improve performance, providing transparent KPIs and uses lean tools to establish improvement plans. Collaborates with colleagues across TT sites to establish joint purchasing strategies to leverage cost/delivery & availability. This role is both strategic and sometimes hands-on, helping the team through difficult supply challenges and working closely with customers, to ensure internal and external customers’ requirements are met.Leadership experience in a similar role, ideally within the Electronics sector. Has the ability to clearly articulate a challenge and set plans in place to contain/improve and to develop and grow the talent within the supply chain organisation.Strong people management skills. Is transparent and is a team player.Is competent in commercial negotiation and can lead discussions with suppliers and can hold ground with customers.Can demonstrate significant improvement in supply chain performance, team building and inventory management through career to date. Has the ability to influence at all levels with excellent communication skills. Qualifications, Skills and AttributesQualifications:
Bachelor’s DegreeA deep knowledge of Supply Chain management with the ability to think logically in a fast-changing environment.8 years Supply Chain experience with at least 5 years’ experience leading a planning/purchasing/supply chain organisation.Experience with SIOP (also known as S&OP or Sales, (Inventory,) and Operations Planning) for forward-looking business planning.Strong people management skills and experience. Ability to motivate and lead groups and individuals.Demonstrated track record of managing change. An advocate for continuous improvement, never satisfied with the status quo. Creative and strategic thinking and planningSolid understanding and experience with ERP systems and understands requirements of MRP. Experience using systems data to leverage automation to improve team and process productivity.Communicates well at all levels within an organisation and with suppliers and customers.Additional Desired Qualifications:
Electronics/Electrical experience CPIM, CSCP or related certification preferred.Experience with high mix manufacturing.Depth in planning, purchasing, and/or sourcing functions. Extensive experience in inventory management and supplier development.Experienced in Aerospace industry or similar industry.
