Job Summary:
This position is responsible for the performance of the Production Control Department and the development of Production Control Associates. Supports Production departments to meet customer requirements, which are on time and accurate. Supports department and company goals and ensures the timely completion of action plans and continuous improvement activities. May support Inventory Management and Vendor Management.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Is responsible for motivating and encouraging Associates to participate in teamwork, Kaizen completion, and other team building/productivity improvement activities. When Associates are absent, coordinates available manpower to ensure all PC activities are completed. Responsible for coordinating the training of new, transferred and temporary Associates. Maintains on-the-job training records for all Associates. Answers Associate questions, resolves concerns, conducts performance appraisals, administers discipline and is responsible for Associate relations within the department. Ensures parts, tools and supplies are available for daily operations. Oversees equipment to ensure it is functional, in good repair and within safety codes. Ensures that all safety rules are observed. Ensures compliance with all IATF-16949 requirements. Works to create and meet manpower plans. Budget preparation and oversight, development of Action Plans and various reports. Approval of overtime, if required. Analyzes dock audit data, QOS data and customer shipping concerns. Ensures all work areas meet 5S standards. May be required to perform additional duties as assigned. Follows all procedures and work instructions and makes recommendations to improve the process. Notifies Leader immediately upon detecting any non-conformances. Records all non-conformances to ensure corrective action and preventative measures are taken and assist in the problem solving process. Communicates and practices DMNC’s Quality and Environmental Management Systems. Takes an active role in achieving and maintaining IATF-16949 and ISO-14001.Knowledge, Skills, and Education Required:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of related experience. A combination of degree and experience can be considered Management experience preferred. Excellent project management abilities, leadership and interpersonal skills. Ability to lead, guide and motivate others. Mechanical aptitude. Basic computer skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel, inventory control systems and web-based applications. Customer specific computer applications are a plus.
