Salary Range: $125,000 - $135,000
Responsibilities:Responsible for commodity management, strategic sourcing, operational purchasing, materials planning, indirect purchasing, sub-contract management, and supplier development for the company worldwideLeads the development and execution of Global Supply Management sourcing strategies, policies, tactics, and objectives for all applicable global commodities that are linked with the subsidiaries, business, and manufacturing strategiesResponsible for developing and implementing supply chain best practices to enhance the supply chain performance and improve the profitability of the businessResponsible for developing commodity & supply strategies for the company, which will ensure the supply of quality material and continually drive for the lowest total landed costDevelops, plans, organizes, and implements global contracting and procurement strategies and programs to increase operational efficiency and profitabilityBuilds a new supplier development team and develops new sources in best cost countries in alignment with new product and program requirementsResponsible for developing and implementing supply chain best practices to enhance customer service and improve profitability in integrated materials managementDevelops new strategic direct and indirect suppliers to increase capacity for the company while reducing costsImplement programs and practices to ensure the supply chain infrastructure is suitable to the scope and size of new programsConducts Supplier Production Readiness and risk assessmentsLeads and manages a large team of buyers, project managers, expeditors, commodity managers, and supplier development managers to ensure an uninterrupted supply of quality materials to our organization while meeting annual cost-out goalsCategorizes the required vendor spend, to be managed via Long Term Agreements, to manage risk and liability and to optimize Total Landed CostOrchestrates the supplier performance evaluation process, determining and taking corrective action, as results requireDesigns and leads contract and pricing negotiations with direct and indirect suppliersDrive analytics and disposition of slow-moving inventoryAnalyze inventories to lead projects to increase inventory turns, reduce waste, and optimize customer service levelsDevelops standardized systems and controls for procurement, including RFP documentation, work authorization, purchase orders, and supplier schedules and LTAsDevelops and manages relationships with domestic and international suppliers and sub-contractorsManages raw material inventory turns, receipts, Days payable outstanding, and purchase price varianceForecasts inventory and indirect purchase receipts as inputs to the SIOP and Cash Management processesCreates a sub-contract management strategy to increase the product scope of work we can bid on in future programsManages the flow down of customer contracts and requirements to the supply baseThe SCM director will be setting up automated replenishment processes with direct material suppliers and outside process vendors including supplier schedules and consignment programsThis job description is not all-inclusive of all dutiesOther duties may be assignedSupervisory ResponsibilitiesAbility to oversee, monitor, and lead employees to ensure goals are met successfully
Basic Hiring Criteria:Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with major studies in business administration, accounting, or economics and seven years of progressively responsible experience in purchasing, of which three years must have been spent in the aerospace industry or an equivalent combination of education and experienceComprehensive knowledge of purchasing methods and procedures in the industry including versatility in the techniques of specification writingExtensive knowledge of markets, particularly local sources of supply of market practices and pricing methodsKnowledge of MRP, MAPICS Manufacturing software; Microsoft Excel, and Word
