Ketjen Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Albemarle Corporation, is currently seeking a Supply Chain Manager.

The primary objective of the Supply Chain Manager is to direct the materials, planning and logistic functions to ensure customer needs are satisfied. The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for planning and maintaining a material procurement process which establishes and achieves the least total cost, best quality and timely delivery for material purchases from local and overseas suppliers.

In addition, they must supervise purchase of production and/or non-production materials according to schedules or purchase requisitions and coordinate suppliers to meet Company’s goals in regard to quality, delivery and cost. Establish and maintain positive employee relationships to ensure that employees are engaged in and committed to providing a quality service to key suppliers.

Roles and responsibilities

Planning/Scheduling suppliers/sub-contractors to maintain uninterrupted flow of materials including: Raw Materials, components, sub-components and services from internal, local and overseas suppliers;Manage inventory levels in line with fiscal year budget;Raising purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of components in line with materials and production planning requirements;Identifying, notifying and managing potential shortages by planning and expediting internally and externally;Coordinate all planning and scheduling activities to achieve customer delivery requirements;.Continuously work to minimize items on Back Orders from local and overseas suppliers;.Expediting and rescheduling open purchase orders to suit planning/production/customer service requirements by negotiating with suppliers for delaying or bringing forward, cancelling, reducing or minimizing ordered quantities to minimize impact on inventory holding;Liaising with freight forwarders for all coming materials from oversea suppliers and maintaining in-Transit Report for accurate on line information for Customer Service;Managing inventory levels to optimum levels to achieve balance between customer service and working capital (over stock v/s stock outs);Improve systems and processes to deliver greater efficiency and effectiveness of service for company and customers;Review and approve purchase requisitions;Manage Supply Chain department and employees;Manage site procurement operational and expenditure plan;Interact and manage Internal global group companies who provide 80% of all purchases;Communicate with field and internal staff in relation to purchasing requests and keep them informed on technical details, price and availability;Support management team with all required reporting of data analysis and prepare reports, ready for management presentations, in clear and concise communication methods.Any other related tasks as directed.

Educational and / or Training Qualifications, Certificates and Licenses

Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Business or a related discipline and 5-10 years of supply chain experience; or more than 10 years of experience in lieu of a degree.

Experience and Knowledge

Ability to develop strong working relationshipsIndustry based experience preferredBroad supply chain/distribution/manufacturing knowledgeHighly developed people management skillsExperience in negotiating supply priorities of raw materialsUnderstanding freight forwarding processes and experience with dealing with freight forwards, customs agents and suppliers.
