Flexport Supply Chain Optimization Analyst is a supply chain technology subject matter expert who works to improve our client’s supply chain performance, optimizing for both time and resources. You will be positioned as the solutions lead for a collection of Flexport technology & service offerings: 

Order Management Booking Management Buyer’s Consolidation Comprehensive Supply Chain Solution design and project management

These pillars form the basis of Flexport’s long term freight-agnostic Supply Chain Solution vision. 

 

The Supply Chain Optimization Data Analyst will work within our control tower products – one of the fastest growing products within the company. Primary focus areas will be route planning, mode optimization, and container allocation modeling to help clients improve their supply chain operations, reduce costs, increase transparency and achieve greater business efficiency. Your efforts will directly result in the overarching success of both Flexport and our clients.

What you'll do: Analyze existing and new client’s supply chains, identifying areas for improvement for reducing costs, increasing carbon emissions savings, and boosting efficiency. Develop and scale supply chain optimization models using python, focusing on mode planning and maximizing consolidations on all nodes of the supply chain (e.g. origin, freight, and downstream).  Lead discussions with the engineering team to define the product requirements to incorporate your models into production as part of the supply chain optimization module in the control tower.  Collaborate with demand teams to build proposals to present to clients. Work closely with the operations teams to execute the optimization models and gain feedback for improvement.  Independently manage a workstream or multiple workstreams of a program from start to finish, including building a plan, analyzing data, and removing roadblocks. Measure and monitor project workstreams you are responsible for from inception to delivery with high quality standards Provide transparent communication about program status, risks, and changes to key business stakeholders. This includes writing sections of formal business documents, leading meetings with employees of all levels.

Build scalable solutions so the problems stay fixed.

Program manage key initiatives in the team including driving profitability by analyzing root causes that lead to losses and take actions on reducing losses Drive the execution of all processes in the product lifecycle, including product and market research, competitor analysis, planning, positioning, requirements and roadmap development, and product launch What you'll need: BA/BS degree or higher, ideally in a technical field (e.g.,Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Computer Science, Supply Chain, Physics) with 2-4 years of professional logistics, supply chain management/consulting, freight forwarding experience, or product management.  Proficient knowledge in Python, SQL, Looker.  Strong analytical skills, ability to handle data effectively; system-oriented thinking and end-to-end view of processes Proven success in overseeing all elements of the product development lifecycle Technical Program management skills (set goals, manage delivery, create and measure impact) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to build strong relationships with people at all levels and to influence without authority Willing to get your hands dirty to build an understanding of ground operations in local regions Ability to handle data effectively and conduct complex data analysis; system-oriented thinking and end-to-end view of processes Strong attention to detail and proficient problem solving skills. Apply logic and reasoning skills to challenge the status quo and push back appropriately when things don’t go according to plan Self-starter, tolerance for ambiguity, willingness to go the extra mile
