Supply Chain Planning Lead

Skills:

Exceptional analytical and conceptional thinking skills to manage supply chain constraints.Ability to perform metrics and reports on various data collections.High level of competency in Microsoft Excel with experience in other Microsoft Office applications.Ability to work independently with individuals at all organizational levels. Willingness to frequently visit the shop floor for better understanding of Plant operations.

Job Summary: 

The selected candidate will report to the Procurement Operations and Supply Chain Manager to support the Hampton, VA Plant.  The Supply Chain Planning Lead will use analytical and quantitative methods to understand, predict, and enhance the supply chain to ensure material requirements are met and align with the Plant production schedules. The Supply Chain Planning Lead will collaborate with Sales, Planning, Operations, Purchasing, and Engineering teams to assemble data, analyze performance, identify problems, and develop recommendations which support both Planning and Manufacturing Operations objectives. This role will primarily focus on core and alloy management which are both critical to manufacturing operations. 

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities: 

Utilizes analysis tools and master schedules to forecast production material demands and ensure minimum, maximum and safety stock levels are appropriately set. Analyzes inventory reports and recognize trends of increased consumption to assist the proper ramp up ordering of inventory.Writes requisitions for the necessary production materials from suppliers, track deliveries, and manage commitments to ensure timely receipt. Notifies Procurement of low inventory to avoid inventory stockouts.Maintains open communication with vendors and transportation services to confirm scheduling, processing, and deliveries. Occasionally travels to vendor locations to gather firsthand information and build strong relationships.Develops and maintains inventory performance reports and distributes them to applicable stakeholders. Reconciles inventory discrepancies per Plant procedures.Ensures item master and BOM accuracy in the OHCMS manufacturing system to drive accurate MRP data to support production material procurement.Support process improvement initiatives to realize warehouse efficiencies and productivity.Designs, develops, and implements Business Intelligence tools. Investigates problems, finds root causes, and develops solutions.Complies with all Plant required policies and procedures to include but not limited to: EHS, HR, Quality, Code of Conduct, etc.
