Supply Chain & Procurement Intern

Primary Purpose

To experience Mountaire's culture first-hand and provide additional exposure of Mountaire's family-oriented work environment.  Fulfill all designated duties within each specialized area of operation for the duration of the internship. This program is intended to provide learning opportunities by working hands-on with mentors and completing assigned projects. The project is a continuation of Procurement's ongoing efforts to enhance contract management, optimize freight logistics, and strengthen supplier relationships. The intern will focus on supporting the validation and management of supplier contracts, improving our freight processes, and conducting a comprehensive Supplier Satisfaction Survey. Additional assignments may include analyzing freight costs, monitoring shipment timelines, and creating reports that will be used to refine our supply chain strategies. Through collaboration and communication the Intern will develop recommendations to support business stakeholders. 

Primary Project 

Work/Meet with representatives from the Procurement and applicable business units/departments across the organization. Will contribute to high-impact meaningful projects that will not only further advance company's mission but allow one to gain real world experience, specifically in relation to Supply Chain Management and Strategic Sourcing. Will provide support in Contract Lifecycle Management solution effort Participate in the design, distribution, and analysis of the Supplier Satisfaction Survey Analyze data around contract management, freight costs, and supplier surveys - develop recommendations around all Procurement areas involved in Manage updates and improvements to contract management systems and processes Spend time learning about supply chain procedures, freight logistics, and supplier relationship management Present project scope and findings at the end of the internship in a Capstone presentation

Duties/Activities Required by Job

Complete assigned project identified by department mentor Attend weekly seminar series across different Mountaire facilities     All interns must be available to travel to Delaware during the last week of the program for final presentations (August 5 - 7, 2025) All interns are required to complete a 10 minute presentation on their project at the conclusion of summer. Presentations will take place in Millsboro, DE at the Administrative Building during the week of August 4-8th.  All interns must complete a mid-way evaluation (week 5) along with a final evaluation (week 10)

Education/Experience Requirements 

Must be currently enrolled and pursuing an Associate or Bachelor's degree at an accredited college or university. Proficiency in Microsoft Office  Knowledge or working experience in Business and Supply Chain Management - Indirect and direct materials  Completed coursework in business law and procurement practices preferred      Ability to identify opportunities to increase accuracy, optimize resources and develop and  recommend solutions     Able to drive valuable insights from data to make recommendations, data analyzation  Ability to handle short timelines in a fast-paced environment
