We’re looking for talented, committed individuals to join our team as we push onwards toward certifying the Joby aircraft with the Federal Aviation Administration, scaling our manufacturing, and preparing to launch commercial service in 2025. Overview

In this role, you will function as a key liaison between the Supply Chain organization and internal stakeholders including Joby's Executive Teams, Engineering and Manufacturing. Program Managers will collaborate closely with their Supply Chain team members including Global Supply Managers and Supplier Industrialization Engineers across all commodities on behalf of Supply Chain leadership. The Program Manager will work closely with the core Program/Project team to manage high visibility and high value programs, applying program/project management skills to assure the timely and efficient execution of projects.

Responsibilities

Define, implement, and drive execution of project requirements, workflows, and plans

Analyze the complete supply chain for the projects by defining and measuring performance criteria (milestone adherence, sourcing progress, cost savings opportunities, operational efficiency, etc.) to support strategic decision making

Manage project timelines and resources and ensure risk mitigation actions are identified and in place to ensure successful program launches

Continuously monitor and measure project processes and activities to ensure no delays to the project and that potential risks are identified in a timely manner

Develop robust systems to track progress of critical path readiness across our global supply chain

Develop and maintain dashboards to track program status and to communicate key project metrics to the broader organization including Engineering, Finance and Manufacturing

Connect and coordinate activities between Programs, Engineering, Global Supply Management, Supplier Industrialization, Planning, Logistics, New Program Introduction and Finance to ensure seamless component and product launch, while also limiting exposure to supplier liability/excess inventory during coordinated program phase-out

Collect information and generate presentations to clearly and concisely communicate risk to executive team

Develop timelines to plan out part readiness against program timing and develop relationships with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure steady flow of information

Understand a broad range of manufacturing processes, both at suppliers and internally to better identify and mitigate potential risks

Represent Supply Chain team for risk mitigation and escalation discussions with Executive team, in collaboration with commodity Group Manager

Understand sourcing process, and drive team for timing and execution accountability

Required

Bachelor’s Degree or relevant experience in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or Operations Management (MBA or other advanced degree is a plus) 

At least 5 years of project / program management or strategic, supply chain experience in a fast paced, highly fluid environment; experience in a manufacturing organization strongly preferred  

Demonstrated, applied experience delivering complex programs and projects

Superior analytical skills and the ability to use data and metrics to justify business decisions; knowledge of Microsoft PowerBI is a plus   

Experience developing succinct, crisp executive summaries and presenting to leadership

Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment to achieve business objectives. Ability to work independently in an ambiguous environment

Open-minded self-starter with the ability to adapt, improvise and problem solve

Excellent communications skills with ability to influence cross functional stakeholders: Programs, Design, Global Supply Management, Supplier Industrialization, Planning, Logistics, New Program Introduction and Finance
