What a Supply Chain Program Manager does at HP:
Frequently contributes to the development of new ideas and methods.
Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors.
Leads and/ or provides expertise to functional project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives.
Acts as an expert providing direction and guidance to process improvements and establishing policies.
Frequently represents the organization to external customers/ clients.
Exercises significant independent judgment within broadly defined policies and practices to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives.
May provide mentoring and guidance to lower level employees.
Responsibilities:
Point of contact to the System Team to represent supply chain related function.
Program management of supply chain activities after a product completes development phase.
Accountable for worldwide supply chain deliverables to meet product RTP dates; requires coordination of the commercial Supply Chain and ODM functions to assure there is a comprehensive plan for predictable launches.
Responsible for organizing and leading cross-functional teams to ensure the execution of all program deliverables to meet the needs of target customers and business requirements.
Responsible and accountable for the development and execution of plans which result in the timely introduction of the products & programs as required while identifying and minimizing risk.
Individuals who do well in this role at HP, usually possess:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Management, Supply chain, or equivalent.
PMP/PMI certification preferred.
Typically 6-10 years experience.
Extensive experience with using project and program planning tools and software packages to create, manage, and track project results.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
Demonstrated business acumen and successful experience managing all aspects of programs, including communicating with stakeholders and directing matrixed teams and resources.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.
Ability to effectively communicate program plans, proposals, and results, and negotiate options at senior management levels.
Excellent team and project management skills, including project structuring.
Strong business acumen and technical knowledge across multiple business units, with an understanding of emerging trends.
Strong understanding of supply chain processes (Plan, source, make deliver).
