Position Summary: The Supply Chain Specialist provides broad ranging support in all aspects of Supply Chain operations. The position will collaborate and cross train within multiple Supply Chain categories including Purchasing, Inventory, Project Materials Coordination, Materials Management, Insurance, and Contract Administration, and provide backup and support to key positions within the Supply Chain team. This role combines analysis and reporting along with hands-on application within one or more of the Supply Chain categories to ensure excellence in the overall performance of the operations. Position Responsibilities + Support Purchasing department Business as Usual activities including but not limited to: + Review purchase requisitions, requests and evaluates quotations, and prepares purchase orders under the oversight of Purchasing Agents. + Research and identify prospective suppliers. + Assists with inventory and cycle count activities under the oversight of the Inventory Control Analyst. + Coordinates with Warehouse, Purchasing and Inventory personnel to ensure optimal inventory levels consistent with current demand. + Analyze inventory for over / under stocking conditions. + Monitor and communicate delivery schedules for special projects ensuring timely jobsite staging. + Maintain Approved Vendor Insurance databases as needed to ensure coverage is maintained with in specified limits. + Assist with the maintenance of metrics and key performance indicators for the department. + Perform other related duties and functions as required. + Assist with restoration efforts in the event of significant storm events. + Maintain effective working relationships with employees and customers at all levels within LCEC. Ensure smooth operations, productive communications and effective understanding during all inter-personal contacts. Respond with current and accurate information to all inquiries, courteously and in a timely manner. Education Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of postsecondary education and related work experience. (Required) Experience + 1-3 years' experience in supply chain or a corporate accounting environment. (Required) + Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint and Outlook; Intermediate proficiency with Excel. (Required) + Working knowledge of purchasing or accounting modules in an enterprise business operating system. (Required) + Demonstrated excellent customer service orientation. (Required) + 1 – 3 years of Supply Chain, Financial, Accounting experience in a utility environment. (Preferred) Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities + Ability to work in a collaborative environment using interactive skills for effective and positive relations. (Required) + Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills (Required) + Accuracy in daily work and other projects. (Required) + Strong verbal and written communication skills. (Required) + Ability to meet communicated schedules and deadlines (Required) + Ability to multitask and prioritize work tasks.
