Position Summary Full-Time Day Shift $26.23 - $40.66

Under the general direction of the System Administrator, Supply Chain, the Manager of Supply Chain Operations provides leadership to Memorial Health System (MHS) affiliates and departments by planning, organizing and setting high-level goals relating to the supply chain operation. The Manager is responsible for assuring that the supply chain function is accomplished through timely and efficient interaction among the Contracting, Warehouse and Central Supply Departments in conjunction with the Value Analysis and Purchasing Departments to meet customer needs. The Manager has responsibility for supply throughput across the health system.  Occasional travel to other affiliates is required.  Embodies the Memorial Health System Performance Excellence Standards of Safety, Quality, Integrity and Stewardship that support our mission, vision and values.

Collaborates with other Supply Chain leaders to ensure the Supply Chain Division accomplishes its mission. Collaborates with other departments, which hold inventory, to ensure accurate reporting for financial statement purposes. Develops and implements long-term strategies around efficient use of Information Systems to implement a common platform for MMIS reporting for all MHS affiliates. Participates in and supports management development activities within the institution, focusing on the next group of leaders within the Supply Chain Division. Participates in educational seminars and conferences as necessary to keep current on pertinent issues in healthcare and supply chain. Directs the operation and utilization of the Health System’s 40,000 square foot main warehouse facility and Central Supply department. Monitors product recalls and product complaints to ensure patient safety is first and foremost across all affiliates. Directs the centralized receiving of all products delivered to Memorial Health System. Ensures that the receipt and recording of all such deliveries is performed in a timely, accurate and efficient manner. Directs the compilation and movement of product across facilities in an accurate, safe and expeditious manner. Develops and maintains policies, procedures and internal controls that ensure departments and patients are charged accurately and in a timely manner. Develops and maintains policies, procedures and internal controls – that ensure an accurate perpetual inventory. Ensures that the pickup, decontamination and re-circulation of durable medical equipment, [I.V. poles, pumps, evacuation machines etc.] and items for reprocessing are handled appropriately. Prepare annual operating budgets for supply chain departments. Develops annual individual and department goals and objectives that are consistent with the Mission, Vision, and Strategies of the Health System and Supply Chain Division. Identifies and implements cost reduction initiatives within equipment, service and supply spend across Memorial Health System. Holds regular department staff meetings to ensure open communication with employees and encourage their professional development. Attends other meetings throughout the Health System to ensure open communication with other departments. Assumes assignments and special projects at the request of the System Administrator, Supply Chain. Performs other related work as required or requested.

Required Experience

Education:

·       Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Health Services Administrator, Nursing, Business Administration or related field required.

·       Master’s Degree in Management, Health Services Administration, Business Administration or related field required.  

Licensure/Certification/Registry:

·       Certified Materials Resources Prof (CMRP) certification required.  Certified Purchasing Mgr (CPM) certification is preferred.

·       Must possess valid Illinois driver license and must be deemed as an acceptable driver in accordance with the MHS Fleet Safety Policy (five year MVR will be required).

Experience:

·       Ten years or more of supervisory or managerial experience, with principal focus in a high level supply chain management role. 

·       Two years of experience in a hospital setting is preferred, with involvement in supply chain management.

Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

·       Must be able to plan, direct, control and supervise all of the areas of direct responsibility.

·       Must possess leadership as well as professional and technical skills.

·       Must have the ability to develop operational systems to accurately control departmental activities.

·       Must have sufficient oral and written communication skills to train and supervise personnel and effectively interact with colleagues and external customers.

·       Must possess above-average analytical and problem solving skills and be able to deal and communicate effectively with administrative and other departmental personnel throughout the Health System.

·       Must provide leadership and be able to build effective teams in order to achieve the mission of the Health System and Supply Chain Division.
