The Supply Chain Technician is responsible for receiving and distributing supplies throughout the health system. They replenish supplies according to the posted minimum and maximum stock levels for the storeroom and all other stocking locations. The technician conducts inventory of point of use areas according to a defined schedule and will input inventory data into the department computer system via hand held devices or desktop computer.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. One (1) year of related experience preferred. Must be able to operate a keyboard, telephone, calculator and other office equipment as required.
Responsibilities:
• Delivers supplies, including limited legend medications such as IV Solutions (no additives), non-prescription medications, contrast media, drug administration devices and Linen in an accurate and timely manner.
• Reviews minimum and maximum levels daily and places orders accordingly as reflected in handheld device or bin label.
• Inventories point of use stock weekly and enter orders accurately into appropriate system according to a schedule.
• Ensures point of use items have appropriate barcodes, Bin labels, Par levels and communicates change needs to Supervisor.
• Rotates stock in point of use areas and storeroom to ensure no items are out of date and older items are utilized first.
• Keep supply areas, such as carts and supply rooms, neat and orderly.
• Communicates to Supervisor any point of use critical messages and stock outs. Communicates all return needs to Supervisor, completes appropriate documents and returns to backup stock.
• Provides position coverage for trained Supply Chain Tech jobs to assist during sickness and vacations, etc.
• Consolidate clean & dirty linen bins to appropriate level prior in a timely manner.
• Follow cart cleaning schedules.
• Redistributes IV pumps as assigned per the IV Pump Inventory Report.
• Replenish medical gas cylinders to assigned units per assigned schedule and return empty cylinders to the dock storage area.
• Assists clinical and non-clinical employees with supply chain problems, questions, or concerns and if necessary, directing them to the supply chain supervisor.
• Handles emergency supply situations as directed.
• Assists in training of new employees as scheduled.
• Adheres to patient privacy policies and procedures, maintain confidentiality.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Should be able to push/pull, lift/move 35 lb., be able to perform moderately difficult manual manipulations such as using a keyboard, writing, and filing for extended periods of time, must be able to perform tasks which require hand-eye coordination such as data entry, typing and using photo copiers. Mobility requirements may include the ability to be stationary at a workstation for a prolonged period time in addition to being able to squat or be mobile for a reasonable length of time and distance. Communication requirements include the ability to comprehend the spoken English language in addition to being able to communicate and read the English language.

Salary Range: $16.61-20.46 /hour Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
