Supply Clerk (Food Services)
Overview ***This position will be physically located in Iraq in support of LOGCAP.*** Supply Clerk reports directly to the Food Service Supervisor / Rations. The Supply Clerk can assist in the receiving, storing, inventorying, and issuing Food Rations received from our SPV as needed. Supply Clerk also compiles stock records for Government Equipment, Materials as well as DFAC Consumables as needed using the Maximo computer system and/or other systems as required. Operate Materiel Handling Equipment to include Forklift if required to move product as required. Analyzes and select the correct process for food ration and consumable transactions. The Supply Clerk must be capable of working independent in lieu of specific instructions to accomplish mission and always enforce the importance of safety. Responsibilities This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of program or Company. Receives, stores, and issues food rations, consumables, material, and compiles stock records in stockroom, DFAC Warehouse, or storage yard. Examines food rations stock to verify conformance to specifications to include Expiration Dates and FIFO are within compliance Stores food rations and consumables in DFAC Warehouse containers according TBMED 530/Tricode regulations. Assists in filling Kitchen Reqs for food rations from stock. Assists in the weekly / monthly food rations inventory on 7th/14th/21st/EOM. Operates a forklift truck to move, stack, un-stack, load, and unload materiel in the work area if properly licensed The preceding job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and essential duties and responsibilities of work performed by employees within this classification. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required. High school diploma or equivalent. Must be able to obtain a Driver’s License. Capable of effectively communicating technical information in English, both written and verbally. ServSafe Certification or Food Service Certification approved under ANSI-CFP accredited programs and/or approved under the Tri Service Food Code guidelines. Experience: Six months experience in a Food Service Warehouse operation preferred. Basic knowledge of Food Rotation to include FIFO / FIFOE and identifying expiration of perishable food items preferred. Skills: Collaborative work style fostering cooperation and teamwork. Prioritize responsibilities to handle a demanding workload. Ability to work under pressure. Intermediate proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook applications. Good oral and written communication skills required. Experienced in using computer automated systems, MS office applications such as word, excel etc. Must be trained on Maximo. Working Conditions: The worker is subject to extreme cold. Temperatures typically below 32 degrees for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions, such as wind and humidity. The worker is subject to extreme heat. Temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions, such as wind and humidity. The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level. The worker is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals. Physical Requirements: Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
