Major Responsibilities:

Ensures par levels are maintained.  Establishes par levels for daily requirements on all perioperative services supplies needed for direct patient care.  Researches new or substitute products and secures pricing.Reviews charges on a daily basis.Verifies bill-only purchase orders on consignment items and one-time items delivered by sales representatives.Responsible for maintenance of the automated ordering system and database logs for the department, which include but are not limited to the bone, tissue and implant logs.Performs periodic inventories of all stock supplies in specified areas.   Receives and documents incoming supply orders.  Puts away supplies neatly, safely, accurately and efficiently.Provides usage and pricing data to manager to assist with supply budgets   Deliver supplies as needed to departments outside of the OR.  Coordinates borrowing equipment and supplies and ensures return or replacement.  Expedites deliveries to shuttles as directed by coordinator or manager.Makes daily reminder calls to vendor representatives regarding supply orders.Completes follow up when orders arrive incomplete or with back orders.Identifies and reports all supply and/or distribution issues to manager.Rotates stock and pulls outdated stock.Documents and sends to warehouse or direct to shipping dock instrumentation and equipment for repairs or return.Utilizes the materials management information system for non-stock and non-catalog items. Verifies delivery dates and manages backorders.  Responsible for stocking the vendor scrub machine an maintains operational efficiency and compliance and managing the temperature monitoring system.Maintains and/or repairs equipment that can be fixed on-site.

Equivalent to high school diploma.


Preferred:

Associates degree.

Experience/Skills:
Required:

Three years of related experience.Knowledge and ability to use spreadsheet and database management programs and maintain electronic data files.Strong verbal and written communication skills. 


Preferred:

Knowledge/experience in OR equipment, purchasing, or materials management.
