Supply Inventory Specialist

Position Summary

Under general supervision, it provides supply chain services to physician practices, including receiving and inventory management. Acts as liaison between Supply Chain leadership and other healthcare professionals in acquiring the desired products or services.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities Include the Following:

Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors. Conducts inventory counts, submits orders, and restocks items daily. Maintains inventory levels based on current usage and par levels set by respective department leaders. Restocks shelves on a first in, first out basis and ensures product is kept neat, organized, and easily accessible. Places requisitions for supply orders through the hospital MMIS. Reviews open requisitions and works with the Procurement department to confirm orders and product availability. Proactively checks for product back-orders, communicates, and provides updates to end users and department leadership. Perform and assist in the annual physical inventory. Performs monthly checks for outdated goods and removes outdated stock to be reported to supervisor. Maintains a clean and safe environment for all staff members and patients. Attends scheduled department meetings and in-services as appropriate. Completes annual department and hospital competency requirements. Adheres to all WPH policies and procedures including dress code, code of conduct, customer service, attendance, and submission of annual occupational health requirements. Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Education & Experience Requirements

High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. 2–4 years of experience in a healthcare setting preferred. Previous Materials Management experience preferred. Must be able to read, write, and spell accurately in English, as well as perform basic arithmetic accurately. Knowledge of The Joint Commission (TJC), Occupation Health and Safety Association (OSHA) and Department of Health guidelines and regulations are extremely important. Basic or advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel required. Knowledge of INFOR system preferred. Must understand and be able to work well on basic computer programs.
