Opportunity Overview:

 

The Commodity Engineer (CE) serves as the technical representative on a commodity team, ensuring Teradyne maintains a strong supply base capable of manufacturing our products while adhering to strict cost, quality, and schedule requirements. In this role, you will collaborate with our engineering teams to develop and qualify complex electromechanical solutions used in automated test equipment (ATE) for the semiconductor market.

 

Influences product design & specifications to optimize cost, quality and manufacturability. Provides guidance to engineering groups with the identification of mainstream technologies which support new product performance and cost targets as well as assists in directing sourcing. Manages supplier tooling & test process development. Develops and executes new product qualification plans. Co-owns the commodity strategy, ensuring Teradyne’s supply base is aligned to our cost, quality and responsiveness targets. Responsible for ensuring the success of the technical hand off from Teradyne engineering (design) to our HVM manufacturing partners.

BS in mechanical, industrial, electrical or manufacturing engineering 5+ years of design or manufacturing experience on electro-mechanical assemblies Ability to read and understand technical drawings and schematics and understand GD&T Working knowledge of quality tools (control plans, gage studies, measurement systems analysis, etc.) Requires structured problem-solving methodologies Must possess the ability to manage several projects simultaneously Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills are a must Ability to travel up to 15% both domestic and international

 

Compensation:

 

The base salary range for this role is $116,600 - $186,500. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.  

Incentive Plan: This job is eligible for discretionary bonus(es) based on financial performance.
