SUPPLY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST
Summary You will serve as a Supply Management Specialist at NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR SAN DIEGO. Responsibilities You will perform extensive searches of mandatory sources, contracts, vendor catalogs, electronic commerce and other data sources to locate appropriate sources of supply. You will act as the supply liaison for engineers, project schedulers, production controllers, and artisans. You will ascertain material status and maintain up-to-date information on the status of all materials and services that could impact production timelines. You will apply analytical principles and procedures to the Government Commerical Purchase Card procurement process to ensure alignment with the requirements. You will resolve all discrepancies with material orders to include arranging for the replacement, exchange, or return for credit of defective and/or erroneous materials, and transportation. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Supply Management Specialist specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-5) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing technical/administrative work primarily concerned with applying a practical well-established and commonly applied supply and purchasing principles, concepts, and methodologies to perform trainee and/or developmental assignments concerned with analyzing, evaluating or promoting improvements in the policies, plans, methods, procedures or systems of a supply and purchase card program in material management and logistics management. Examples of specialized experience include doing the following with oversight: 1) Providing assistance in material ordering, purchasing, and expediting material reviews to ensure proper logistics support is provided to the organization; 2) Monitoring the status of material procured and shipped that could impact production timelines; 3) Resolve discrepancies with materials orders to including arranging for replacement, exchange, or return for credit of defective and/or erroneous materials; 4) Documents all purchases placed against the credit card in accordance with current regulations and instruction; 5) Tracking, resolving, and reconciling Disputed Transaction Reports; and 6) Conducting cursory research and provide material availability status. Education In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: Successfully completed 1 full year of graduate level education, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position or have successfully completed a bachelor's degree in any field with superior academic achievement. One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study.
