The Supply Planning Manager will lead a team responsible for tactical planning of finished goods at Graphic Packaging International (GPI).  The supply planning team creates weekly production plans balancing capacity, inventory and production costs that are optimized and executed by the plants.  The Supply Planning Manager ensures the team creates and delivers strategic, optimized supply plans for the tactical teams to execute to deliver corporate and local KPIs.

 

The Supply Planning Manager will play a hands-on role in the overall success of the Supply Chain Organization with the goals of creating exceptional customer service and meeting or exceeding relevant corporate KPIs. The Supply Planning Manager will be responsible for the Team’s use and continuous improvement of strategic planning processes and systems to ensure on-time availability of manufactured finished goods and components. She/he will also drive collaboration efforts that improve on time in full (OTIF) order fulfilment.

 

The Supply Planning Manager will report into the Director, Supply Planning and work very closely with the Capacity and Demand planning managers.  He/She will be responsible for the weekly S&OE meetings, driving proactive and action oriented conversation. 


 

JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include but are not limited to the following.

Must work within and adhere to the company’s core values of Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships and Teamwork. Lead the Tactical Supply Planning for GPIs Food Service Cups Division Implement and lead quarterly inventory reviews to establish target inventory levels for all FG and WIP SKUs.  Developing reporting cadence to ensure adherence to policies. Roll out segmented Production Strategy that connects to our inventory policy to optimize inventory, maximize service, and reduce operating inefficiencies. Facilitate weekly S&OE meeting, connecting weekly execution to our monthly S&OP plans and deliverables. Ensure exceptions (supply & demand imbalances) are managed in the medium- and long-term planning horizons Drive adoption of KPIs as they apply to Supply Planning success Lead prioritization efforts during supply shortages Collaborate on root cause issues with Demand Planning, Tactical Planning and Customer Service Leads Develop, support, and monitor department objectives with the goal of achieving executional planning annual targets Lead formal escalations for timely decision making and appropriate resolution boundaries. Hire, retain and develop top talent to support a high functioning team, building a strong talent pipeline for our supply chain

BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:

BS or BA in supply chain management, science and/or engineering. Master or advanced degree (sciences or business) preferred 5-7 years of supply planning for a global or multi-plant manufacturing company with demonstrated increasing responsibility; MPS scheduling experience preferred 1+ years of supervisory experience required.   Previous experience in paperboard packaging converting highly preferred APICS certification preferred

 

EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:

Four-year degree required

 

SKILLS:

Excellent communications skills (both verbal and written). Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management

 

SCHEDULE DEMANDS:

General schedule is an 8-hour M-F assignment, however, employee must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally; that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so. Occasional overnight travel to include flying, driving, riding or by rail.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Sitting or standing for extended periods of time up to 8-hours. Occasional Lifting up to 20 lbs. Reading computer screen or other electronic devices. Use of various office hand and electrical tools or equipment.

Pay Range:   $102,270.00 - $136,395.00
