Your Opportunity

The Supply Planning Manager is responsible for the overall Supply Management through oversite of assigned categories & planners. The primary role of the Supply Planning Manager is to ensure midterm to long-term supply plans are aligned with near-term manufacturing & working capital requirements. The Supply Planning Manager will lead a team responsible for master production scheduling & the management of finished goods, work in process, excess & obsolete inventory, as well as the finished goods replenishment of the distribution network. Key performance metrics include customer order fill rate, distress to sales ratio, and Days on Hand/Working Capital. Managers will provide support and leadership to their team of supply planners, as well as act as a liaison with business partners regarding all supply chain related projects. The role requires an analytical thinker and a strong communicator with an eye for detail. Communication with business & manufacturing partners regarding capacity constraints & limitations is critical to the role. 


Core Responsibilities

Ensure all master scheduling, product replenishment & inventory management metrics are being met. Identify action items & marshal resources to address action items/follow up on all supply planning related issues

Oversees and aids in optimizing inventory levels at both distribution centers and plants via various stocking policies – including the requirement for seasonal builds & coordinating storage strategies with distribution team

Manage business factors for attaining targeted customer order fill rate of 98.5%

Drive for decreasing inventory alert levels and inventory distress sales across assigned product categories

Leads enforcement and utilization of capacity planning models for assigned product categories

Supports and provides direction to marketing and sales regarding capacity availability or limitations for existing or new business simulations

Interacts with all upstream & downstream business partners for strengthening of process opportunities and effectiveness across the company

Provides resolution to key shortage issues to upper management

Develops and trains direct reports, while providing guidance on day-to-day direction

Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation for assigned Supply Planners

As part of the department leadership team – participate in the processes of interviewing, hiring, planning/assigning workloads, appraising performance, rewarding/disciplining employee.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university and 5+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.

2+ years of demonstrated experience in team management/development or project leadership is required.

Experience and a proven successful track record of handling highly complex networks within supply planning, inventory control, logistics management and/or manufacturing production, required.

Experience with SAP and its related supply chain applications, preferred

Experience with Advance Planning Systems (Logility/JDA/APO/etc.) is required – Logility is a plus

Strong communications skills (oral and written), with a proven ability to understand key concepts and communicate with business stakeholders at multiple levels of management

Project management & process improvement mindset/experiences

Hands on experience with modeling, analysis & simulation tools

Ability to multitask and deal with ambiguity

Strong organizational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

Can analyze process needs and balance competing interests; plus determine the resources needed to meet objectives

Works well under pressure with limited supervision, and can make immediate value-based decisions

Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.

Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.

Requires travel, up to 20% of the time.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation for a Supply Planning team.

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
