SUPPLY SHOP FABRICATOR II, SIX SIDE SUPPLY

The Shop Fabricator II at Six Side Supply is responsible for fabricating and assembling metal structures and components according to blueprints, drawings, and project specifications. The role involves performing various fabrication and welding processes, ensuring quality and precision in all work, and maintaining a safe and efficient workspace. The Shop Fabricator II will primarily work in a fabrication shop setting and collaborate with other team members to complete miscellaneous metals projects on time and within specifications.

Qualifications:

Required:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in metal fabrication and welding. AWS (American Welding Society) Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months Proficiency in MIG welding processes Familiarity with CNC plasma cutting and other metal cutting processes Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings Experience with fitting and assembling metal components Familiarity with operating grinders, torches, saws, brakes, shears, and other fabrication tools Strong understanding of welding and fabrication safety procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements

Preferred:

OSHA 10 Advanced AWS certifications TIG welding processes Experience working with structural and miscellaneous metals, including stairs, railings, and platforms Knowledge of different metal materials and their welding and fabrication requirements Previous experience in a fabrication shop environment

Skills:

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Familiarity with operating grinders, torches, saws, brakes, shears, and other fabrication tools Strong understanding of welding and fabrication safety procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements Ability to lift heavy materials and work in physically demanding conditions Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to voice concerns and conflict professionally and effectively Positive, can-do attitude and continuous learner

Office and Travel:

Primary work location is the Six Side Supply fabrication shop in White Bear Lake, MN Minimal to no travel required, except when field verification is needed Office work is limited to reviewing blueprints, job specifications, and maintaining fabrication and welding records

Responsibilities and Tasks:

Fabrication 

Perform MIG and TIG welding on a variety of metal components. Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, welding symbols, and fabrication drawings to complete assigned tasks. Operate grinders, saws, brakes, shears, and other metalworking tools. Fit, fabricate, and assemble metal components according to specifications. Inspect welds and fabricated components for defects and perform necessary rework as required. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly maintained. Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of PPE and adherence to OSHA regulations. Work collaboratively with shop personnel, project managers, and supervisors to meet deadlines. Assist with loading and unloading materials and completed assemblies.

Other Duties as assigned 

Participate as an active member of the Six Side Supple Teams. Contribute to shared goals and collaborate with colleagues on achievement of priorities. Participate in ongoing training and skills development as needed. Collaborate with internal teams, contractors and other stakeholders to align Six Side Supple management efforts. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Other duties as assigned.

The position requires the ability to stand for extended periods.  The employee must be able to lift up to 50-100 lbs regularly. Manual dexterity is required for handling small welding and fabrication components. The role also involves bending, stooping, and working in confined spaces when necessary. Additionally, the employee must be able to work in a potentially noisy and dusty environment while wearing appropriate protective gear.

In alignment with our commitment to pay transparency, the base salary range for this position is $25.00 to $32.00 per hour, excluding fringe benefits or potential bonuses. If you join McGough, your final base salary will be determined by several factors, including geography, location, skills, education, and experience. Furthermore, we place significant value on pay equity among our current team members as part of any final job offer.

Please note that the range provided above reflects the hiring range for this role. Hiring near the top end of this range would be atypical, as we aim to allow room for future salary growth.
