USNH Okinawa Supply Technician Kanban Support Services.

Contractor shall provide supply technical, material management and causative research necessary to support medical and dental consumables inventory management for the MMD warehouse and Kanban Supply System at Okinawa and Branch Health Clinics (BHCs). Contractor shall assist in the daily maintenance of storage areas, inventory, and replenishment of medical and dental supplies in both warehouse and patient care areas. The contractor will also assist with tracking orders and submit reports on actions taken to resolve shipment discrepancies. The contractor will utilize the Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS) automated data management systems as the primary tracking and reporting system. The Contractor will utilize the DMLSS barcoding system to perform daily departmental inventories and will replenish the empty bins within six hours. The Contractor will communicate with departments and Inventory Manager to adjust par levels in accordance with local guidance and assist with adding new medical items to the inventory as necessary. The contractor should be able to arrange, label and categorize any new items and make barcoding system updates to reflect newly added supplies. The contractor should be able to make physical adjustments to the Kanban system to accommodate new and deleted items as needed. The Kanban system can accommodate specialty items. For this reason, the contractor shall assist the supply petty officer with mandatory source screening and GCPC waiver process to obtain those items. The contractor will utilize DMLSS to research, pick, catalog, and stock items in conjunction with warehouse operations. The contractor shall operate a forklift and government vehicle when required. The contractor will transport materials and equipment to and from the warehouse and/or end-user spaces. The contractor shall ensure visuals or standard work aids are available in each area and provide departmental training on the daily use of the Kanban system upon request or as needed. The contractor will process an average of twenty (20) transactions per hour. The contractor will ensure 100% program compliance with NAVSUP and BUMED requirements. The contractor will ensure department maintains four (4) days stock of 95% of Kanban inventory. The contractor will safeguard material, items, and equipment, challenging all unauthorized personnel.
